Impenetrable by elizabeth_austen

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: In the year 2005, a great battle took place at Hogwarts, one that ended in tragedy. Harry Potter was struck down by a victorious Voldemort. The Order of the Phoenix lost half its numbers. Ginny Potter was taken by a Dementor, leaving her daughter Lily in the care of Ron and Hermione.

The remnants of the Order were forced to flee Britain, doomed to spend the rest of their lives fighting for survival as the Death Eaters prepared to launch their assault upon the rest of Europe. And for sixteen years, Lily was hidden at the secret island Goblynsrefuge, the base of a second resistance group which in previous years had allied itself with the Order.

But all that changed after Voldemort learned of Lily’s existence.

A mysterious talisman, a traitor in the Order, and the appearance of a completely indestructible entity of whom the Death Eaters are terrified, all will build up to a dreadful cataclysm, one which, no matter which side is victorious, will inevitably result in the permanent destruction of the Wizarding World.

Cruel Moon for the Misbegotten by L A Moody

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Remus Lupin is a man whose bĂȘte noir assumes very real proportions on the night of each full moon. It is a reality that he had accepted for most of his life; forced to reconcile to the limitations of his existence at an early age. Then out of the blue, Nymphadora Tonks waltzes into his life, throwing all his stoic principles into turmoil. But wizarding society’s prejudices against werewolves are so deeply ingrained that even specialized Healers have no choice but to admit that some of the most basic answers are just unavailable. As Remus undertakes a dangerous undercover mission that may help him to find answers among his own brothers, Tonks follows a convoluted trail that will uncover the true nature of hatred buried within the Ministry of Magic itself.

Follow this tale of despair and redemption as it weaves through the bustling boulevards of Rome to the carefree Bohemian sections of London to the austere bones of post-industrialized Britain to the majestic spires of Hogwarts castle. It is a story not presented as a romance, but rather as one man’s journey to hell and back as inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy.

Serves as a prequel to my other story, Harry Potter and the Hero’s Lament, but either story can be read independently of the other.
