The Boys are Back in Town by ringobeatlesfan4

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:

The Marauders are the most popular boys in the school, admired by younger and older students alike. Their O.W.L.s are finished, and they’ve all passed and are ready to begin sixth year. James has decided on the career path of an Auror and is trying as hard as he can to succeed. Sirius has followed James into Auror classes, and although he’s not entirely sure if that’s what he wants to do, he figures that it‘s worth it to spend time with his best friend. Remus is all set to begin the crusade for werewolf rights, despite what people may say. Peter is pursuing the profession of a healer. The four best friends are as close as ever, now that they’ve been split up for the first time in six years, and are trying harder than ever to make school fun as they run into problems like girls, grades, and a certain Slytherin. Along the way, they’ll learn that there’s more to life than just being a Marauder.

Meanwhile, Lily Evans has been considering whether or not it’s worthwhile to continuously turn James down; she knows she doesn’t want a boyfriend, but she thinks she could really use a friend. Jackie Carter cruised through all of her classes for the past five years, but keeping up with N.E.W.T. level classes is proving harder than she expected. Mary Macdonald has been having troubling nightmares and needs to find someone to talk to. Angela Hunter is realising that her father getting re-married will benefit her family more than she thought. The four girls need each other this year more than ever as they begin N.E.W.T lessons, and the impending graduation is getting closer than ever. Together, they’ll face the drama of being a teenage girl…coupled with the feelings of love and friendship. It’s a year that no one will be able to forget.

Title taken from the Thin Lizzy song of the same name.

Confessions on a Saturday Morning by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary:

Lily Evans had a lot of thinking to do, and what better time to do it than the crack of dawn on a Saturday? Not a person in sight...usually. That was, however, until she happened upon a certain group of boys, but without their normal mischief.

Follow Lily as she investigates this awkward run-in with James Potter and his friends.

Stars Don't Determine the Future by majestic_ginny

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: As Severus Snape looks up at the stars in the sky, he wonders if they can really determine the future.

Out of Place, Out of Time by The Magic Within

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Time is one of the great mysteries of the universe, its seeming simplicity misleading and its true complexity both astounding and mystifying…

Time is a restricting force, and it only ever wants to move forward, but in reality its boundaries are far easier to bend than one might expect. Time travel is something wizards have been experimenting with since the beginning of time, and they have finally mastered the art. However, all of the Ministry’s time turners have been broken, and it seems that, even for wizards, the ability to travel through time is once again lost. That is, until two people stumble across a rather extraordinary object that manages to do something even the time turners could not accomplish; it can send people years, decades or even farther into the depths of the past. The trouble is, after this object is used, it provides no way in which the user can return. They are forever trapped in time… unless they can find a way back. The question is, how?

Veils by Equinox Chick

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: It is the night before Petunia Evans' wedding. As she stares at herself in the mirror, she is satisfied with her appearance. The dress is perfect, cleverly cut to give her curves, and she looks like a dream. Yes, the dress is perfection ... but what of the veil?

She has promised Vernon and his formidable mother that she will wear the Dursley veil. It is an antique. A family heirloom.

It is hideous.

What she needs is a miracle to rid her of the ugly thing ... or perhaps a touch of magic.

This is Equinox Chick of Hufflepuff and this is my entry in the Weddings Challenge - prompt Big Weddings - in the Great Hall Challenge over at the MNFF beta boards.

Thank you to Samarie (Hopeful_Song) and Kara (Karaley Dargen) for beta'ing this.

Disclaimer: I'm not JK Rowling. I doubt anyone is surprised by that.

Holy Moroley and all things Padfoot! This won the QSQ for Best Marauder Era story. Thank you!

O.W.L.s, Quidditch and the Added Distraction of Sirius Black by Equinox Chick

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Martha Macdonald is in trouble. If she doesn't pass enough O.W.L.s then her dad has decreed that she will not be coming back to Hogwarts for her N.E.W.T. years. For Martha, returning to Hogwarts is essential or her dream of playing professional Quidditch will disappear faster than the Snitch at the start of a match.

Perhaps if she'd studied instead of flying, then she wouldn't be in this mess. Maybe if her boyfriend wasn't the distracting Sirius Black, then her brains wouldn't turn to mush as soon as she bent over her textbooks.

Or, says a small voice in the back of her head, perhaps she's just stupid.

Will Martha scrape an Acceptable or will she always be a Troll?

This is Equinox Chick from Hufflepuff, and this is my entry in the Madam Pomfrey's Character Clinic Triathlon: Original Characters. Prompt # 1 - Exam Stress

Thank you to Kara (Karaley Dargen) for beta'ing this fic.

Martha Macdonald is my OC from The Lions of Gryffindor and Apparently Asleep.

Disclaimer: Sirius Black is not mine. He belongs to JK Rowling as does everything else you recognise in this story.

What Mulciber Did to Mary Macdonald by Equinox Chick

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: "Do you know what he tried to do to Mary Macdonald the other day?"

"That was nothing," said Snape. "It was a laugh, that's all --"

"It was Dark Magic, and if you think that's funny --" **

Two versions of the same incident. But what did Mulciber actually do to Mary Macdonald that could be viewed in two different ways, and why was Severus Snape so keen to defend Mulciber?

** The words at the beginning of this summary are taken directly from The Prince's Tale, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling. I doubt that surprises anyone.

Thank you very much to Natalie (hestiajones) for beta'ing this fic for me.

Dancing Queen by Equinox Chick

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: With the loss of their favourite professor to the Death Eaters, Sirius Black declares that they need to commemorate her life in a 'Muggleish' way. So the Marauders decide to escape the confines of Hogwarts for an evening, accompanied by four Gryffindor girls. But can a drink, a dance and an infuriatingly catchy song really help them to forget?

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling and neither am I Bjorn or Benny from ABBA.

This story was written for an MWPP class last year. The exercise was to write a songfic paying particular attention to the era (late 70's).

Thanks to hestia jones (Natalie) for beta'ing this fic. Sorry, I kept Lily's denim skirt ...

Dark Side of the Moon by Lioness06

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:

In fifth year, Sirius along with James and Peter managed the difficult Animagus transformation. In fifth year, Sirius played the ‘werewolf prank’ on Snape. One was an act of loyalty, brotherhood, and friendship; the other an act of betrayal, vengeance, and recklessness. This story spanning the Marauders' fifth year will deal with both these incidents, as well as Sirius’s increasing rejection of everything having to do with ‘The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black”.

Flying, Fair Play and the Need for a Firm Hand by Equinox Chick

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: Rolanda Hooch thought her first year teaching (when she had to control Bellatrix Black) would always be her worst year. But then she'd hadn't met a messy-haired Gryffindor, his equally cocksure friend, and a red-haired witch with a penchant for revenge.

Sometimes she wished she'd never taken the job at Hogwarts.

This is Equinox Chick of Hufflepuff and this is my entry for the I Challenge Thee Challenge held in Fiction Junction over at the MNFF beta boards.

I accepted a challenge by Karaley Dargen which was

Write about James I. first flying lesson. It does not go well.

Thank you to Lexi (Harry Rulz) for beta'ing this fic for me.

Disclaimer: I'm not JK Rowling. If that honestly surprises you then perhaps you should check into the Priory.

Unforgivable by SexY_LydZ

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: ‘Forgive and forget.’ It’s never as easy as it sounds.

Sirius, Caris, James, Lily, Peter and Remus are finished with school forever, and are busy tackling problems like buying houses and getting jobs, and, all the while, news of this so-called ‘Dark Lord’ and his Death Eater followers becomes more and more prolific. And when tragedy strikes, it has the tendency to either bring people together or push them irrevocably apart. As everything they know changes, can they save one of their own?

Because ultimately, they’re still playing the same game. The game of love and betrayal, vice and virtue, sin and atonement.

And some things are just unforgivable.

Sequel to Sin

When Regulus Met Lily (or What To Do When Werewolves Attack) by solemnlyswear_x

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: He’s always thought she was beautiful – in an unbiased, third-party, observer kind of way, of course. It’s not like he spends hours waxing poetic about her eyes or anything, which he suspects is the sort of thing people like James do. Whatever. He has noticed her, though. But so what? It’s not exactly surprising that he thinks she’s pretty. Look, it’s practically a fact at Hogwarts. Just like everyone knows Bertram Aubrey is an annoying prat, everyone knows Lily Evans is beautiful.

Regulus runs into Lily Evans while shopping in Flourish and Blotts.

This is solemnlyswear_x of Gryffindor writing for the Fiction Junction I Challenge Thee Challenge. My prompt was to write a Regulus/Lily story set during the war (but not at Hogwarts); it was set by ron lover.

Things Aren't Always Black and White by padfootsgirl1981

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:
2009 QSQs: Runner-up: Best Romance - Other Character Story

Add together one ladies' man, one Quidditch player, one werewolf, and one soon-to-be traitor. Then, mix in one imaginative idiot, one fiery redhead, one clever Ravenclaw, and one blonde artist. Stir counterclockwise until trouble occurs, and you are dealing with one of the best-loved group of friends in Hogwarts history. Follow the story of the four Marauders and four equally troublesome girls. See them deal with their first encounters of love, sorrow, heartache… and Death Eaters. How will these future Order members cope with the ordeals that life throws at them? Will love blossom in what was once thought a highly unlikely place? What do you do when the person you care about most in the world doesn’t seem to notice you at all? Will a well-kept secret shatter the foundations of a seven-year friendship? Follow the lives of these friends through their last year at school to the dramatic final battle with Lord Voldemort two decades later.

Warnings are for later chapters, and any sexual situations are very minor.

Chapter Twenty Two: "The Snakes Strike" is in the queue. Excerpt:

Perfume filled his nostrils as Emma walked passed and Rosier’s gaze lingered on her bare, pale legs as the group headed outdoors. “Don’t you just love summer?” he inquired of Regulus, a hungry sneer lighting his face.

“This is ridiculous,” Regulus announced in a furious whisper, “we’re never going to get them alone!”

“Have faith, Black,” commanded Rosier smoothly. “Girls are well renowned for their desire for girly chats. I’m sure they’ll slip off the shackles of their chaperones soon enough.”
