Stories

A Black Tale by Cwiddy

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: This is a free-form poem about Sirius Black. It discusses his friendships, family, his battles, his triumphs, and his death.

Golden Couple by The Salt Lake Queen

Rated: Professors •
Summary: I should have realised what our lives would become. I knew he was broken, even then. I guess I was arrogant enough to think I could fix him.

Ginny knows he doesn't mean it. She knows that deep down, he still loves her. And she'll cling to that knowledge until the end.

Harry Potter and the Black Patronus by scottishboy

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Harry prepares to face his final challenge: to destroy Voldemort's many Horcruxes. But the desire to return to his old life at Hogwarts, to see his friends safe, to care for Ginny Weasley make him indecisive and vulnerable to the Dark Lord's mental probes. If he can force himself to embark on a lonely, certainly fatal path to destroy the Horcruxes, his mind would be clear. But he can't leave his friends; or, rather, they won’t leave him to an uncertain fate.

But, with loyalties going to the highest bidder, and blind devotion is a blessing can Harry really fight his way through the turmoil to do what he may be destined to do?

The Life and Lies of Aberforth Dumbledore by The Dog Star

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: You've heard of my brother, right? Stupid question, of course you've heard of my brother. The wonderfully famous, famously wonderful Albus Dumbledore. The bright one of the family. He got the brains my sister got the looks, and I got... drumroll here... I got the job of feeding the goats. Yeah, I know, I felt like that too. Bit of a bummer isn't it?
But, for once, this is my chance to tell my story, so shove off, and let me do my own thing. Ta.

Note: Mental disorders is just my little sister's condition, so don't let that put you off reading it. If it does, read it anyway. Tough.

Harry Potter and the Alica Aduro by Annagirl

The Patient by MaiaMadness

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary:
“I’m still right here, giving blood and keeping faith, and I’m still right here.
If there were no rewards to reap, no loving embrace to see me through this tedious path I’ve chosen here, I certainly would have walked away by now.
I’m gonna wait it out. Be patient…
If there was no desire to heal, the damaged and broken met along this tedious path I’ve chosen here, I certainly would have walked away by now.
And I still may.”

Neville sits in St. Mungo’s, contemplating the futility of sitting there, hoping that his parents will get better and knowing they won’t; wondering if he’ll ever dare to allow himself a life; wishing that things had been different, that he’d had a mother’s arms to comfort him when he was sad, that he’d had a longer childhood and that he dared tear himself off the path of tedium and self-pity he is on to go talk to someone who cares…

Killing Me Softly by wewillmissyou

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Its hard to wait around for something that may never happen but it's even hard to give it up, especially when it's everything you've ever wanted.

*~*

Mary is in love with James. James is in love with Lily. Why do these two simple facts kill Mary inside? Maybe it's because James is her best mate or because he is the only one that really knows her. Or maybe it's just the fact that she isn't the girl for him when she is positive he is the guy for her.

I would like to thank butter_beer_drinker for the title, laceymoibella for the chapter title, ix3thehpseries for being my advanced reader, MistressOfTime for helping me in the Excerpts page, Mistletoe and xhalyleexblackx for help in the character clinic with Mary. And of course last but not least my lovely beta, who also helped in the character clinic, th_poet14, for whom without this story could not be possible.

Rating is for later chapters.

Excerpt From Chapter Two: Running
In my last class of the day, which was Ancient Runes, Amos Diggory took me aside after class and asked me to go on a walk with him.

Amos and I are mates with reservations. He sits next to me in most of my classes and he's a good for a laugh. We just aren't close. Mostly due to me. I may complain about having no friends, but I do it to myself. I think we all sabotage ourselves, in the end.

Anyways, hanging around with each other after class seemed like a violation of our timid relationship. I did want to, I guess. Nevertheless, I was nervous about accepting the invitation. What if it meant something more, than just a simple walk between friends? I'm not very fanicable so that most likely wasn't the case. Still, the chance for a misunderstanding to occur was one I wasn't willing to take.

I don't date. Mostly because I'm way too hung up on James to consider someone else in that way. Partly because I will never be able to trust a man I don't know inside and out. I'm not exactly worth chasing, either. Lily or Isabella merit chasing after. The two or three blokes that asked me out didn't really care that I said no. They weren't even close to being persistent. With good grace, they moved on.

While I was having this major internal dilemma in my head, Amos was patiently waiting for my reply.

Little Ariana by hufflepuffjewel

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •

Hush, little Ariana, your time to dream is now.

And now, you know, we have to make you hide,

Your life.

When You're Gone by Hermione_Rocks

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •

Rodolphus Lestrange flees from Hogwarts shortly after his lord's demise in the battle . . . but he can't ever flee her, no matter how far gone she might physically be.

Character Death warning is for a death that happened in canon, and the Mental Disorders warning is just to be safe.

Cycle by Weasley24

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: It’s like you are locked in a box. A tiny, dark, claustrophobic box. You can’t see an escape. Perhaps you can never leave. The darkness throws nightmares at you. So fast and close together that you don’t have time to breathe in between them. Then they stop and you are lead to believe that everything is fine.

Some people live such an under privileged life that it wouldn’t matter if they dropped off the side of the earth. No one would ever notice or even care.

But Hogwart’s can change this all and make life worth living. This chance can also be wiped away in the blink of an eye.

Going Under by harrypotterfangirl21

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: In the midst of the Battle of Hogwarts, Ginny finds Harry dead.

However, accepting death is not so easy... and sometimes depression is easier than grieving.

Most warnings are precautions. This deals heavily with depression, however, so it is quite the angst-fest, and somewhat disturbing.
