Shadows Deep by Equinox Chick

Rated: Professors •
Summary: Behind the walls of Hogwarts, deep in the shadows, lurk the secrets of the Founders. Of one mind, at first, their legacy came close to crashing down when two locked horns.

With Helga Hufflepuff determined to disband the Houses and admit anyone, Salazar knows he has to keep the other two on side. But Godric is distracted ... and soon Salazar is, too.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling and I'm not as old as the Founders.

I am, however, Equinox Chick and this is my entry into the School of Mischief Challenge for the Great Hall.

Thank you Natatatatatatatattatatattatatat (hestiajones) for beta'ing this and to Karador (Karaley Dargen) for letting me moan when it collapsed on me.

Winner of the Best Chaptered SSP award in the 2012 QSQ's. Yippeeeee!

The Flowering by hestiajones

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: On his way out, when she makes the mistake of glancing up, he looks at her directly and grins. She immediately returns to her parchment. Stupid, stupid Cissy.

After a while, she’s forgotten him.

He hasn’t forgotten her.

Pretty, pretty Narcissa, he thinks with a smile.

This is hestiajones'... lol. Yes, this is another entry for the GH Cotillion. Please blame Kara/Karaley Dargen, whom I love. I am not J.K.Rowling.

Ready For Tomorrow by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Hugo Weasley is about to play his sister for the Quidditch Cup. The night before the match, he goes for a ride out on the Quidditch pitch to clear his head. Instead, he ends up in the Forbidden Forest with one of the last people he would have expected: Scorpius Malfoy, fellow Slytherin and his Quidditch Captain.

Ricochet by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: Two potions. Two plots. Two Marauders. What could possibly go wrong? Only everything--including their lives.

This is Gmariam of Ravenclaw writing for the Great Hall School of Mischief Challenge, Outstanding O.W.L.s.

Teenage Kicks by Alice Mac

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Aged sixteen, their parents were being relentlessly pursued by Voldemort and attempting to deliver the Wizarding World from an evil tyrant. They fought against far older and more experienced wizards to bring about their victory and create a safer world for their children; to give them the normal childhoods they were deprived of.

Aged sixteen, their children are fighting, but against themselves. They battle against their own self-destructive nature and their foreign, inexplicable feelings. They wrestle with the pressures of friendships, family, relationships and work. They fight to keep secrets buried and to keep their friendships once the secrets are revealed.

Whoever said 'normal' was easy?

Discovering Delirium by The owl

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: At the start of her seventh year, Lily Evans doesn’t know quite what to expect of her new duties as Head Girl. Her only certainty is that Potter will manage to mess them up somehow. However, even she couldn’t have foreseen exactly how much he could mess things up.

James isn’t too worried about being Head Boy. He is more concerned by whether Evans would finally get over herself and see that he really had grown up a bit. However, their shared responsibilities were going to change things more that he knew.

But Not a Passing Fancy by expecto_patronuts

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: There was somebody Scorpius liked hard, even though he couldn't do anything about it. Years after, when they meet again by accident, will he work up the courage to finish what never started?

For the lovely lucca4, because she added me to her favourite authors!

Until The Very End by Gmariam

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •

Flicker and Fail by xxbabewithbrainsxx

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

I know I have a fickle heart,

And a bitterness

And a wandering eye

And a heaviness

In my head...

But don’t you remember?

Don’t you remember?

The reason you loved me before

Baby, please remember me once more...

Leanne Starr watches Katie Bell anxiously as she awakens at last, six months after she was cursed in Hogsmeade. She is waiting for that spark of recognition to flicker in Katie’s eyes. But that spark never appears, and Katie just doesn’t remember her.

This story was written for the wonderful and fabulous Alex/welshdevondragon, my alpha-beta, who also happens to be a wicked writer, super mod and also my first ever friend on MNFF :D

:D :D :D This story has been nominated for a 2012 Quicksilver Quill Award: Best Same-Sex Pairing. Thank you!

Birthday Girl by Equinox Chick

Rated: 3rd-5th Years •
Summary: For Angelina Weasley birthdays were something she'd rather forget. But then George takes her at her word and decides to watch a Quidditch game with Lee instead of spending time with her. So what's a witch to do? She could spend her evening crouched over the accounts ... or perhaps she could crash her favourite haunt and see what transpires.

Disclaimer: I'm not JK Rowling, but I think she'd understand that marriage doesn't mean your life ends with that ring on your finger.

Steel Hearts by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: Romilda Vane was working on the biggest writing assignment of her life, yet her imagination and eloquence, which had held her in good stead for most of her career, suddenly decided to abandon her. However, when she looked for inspiration in the bottom of a pint, she found that it was sitting on the stool next to her.

For someone who didn't believe in muses, she had certainly encountered evidence to the contrary in Oliver Wood.

This is a belated (hey, it's one day...not too delinquent) birthday gift for the fabulous Carole/Equinox Chick, who has served as a lighthouse for me during some tremulous times and has always been a capital friend. I honestly couldn't imagine a day without seeing her name somewhere. This is for you, dear.

This story has been nominated for two 2012 Quicksilver Quill Awards: Best Post-Hogwarts Story and Best Non-Canon Romance.

The Unbreakable Curse by Karaley Dargen

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary: In 1993, Bill Weasley is working on a tomb in Egypt with a team of Magiarchaeologists and Curse-Breakers. It is a job like any other ... or so it seems, until members of the expedition start dying, and Bill has to race against time to figure out what exactly it is that they awakened in the tomb of Mentuhotep, and how it can be stopped before it reaches him.

The following are characters from JKR’s creations: Bill Weasley, Ragnok, Agatha Chubb (QttA), and the last names of Deverill and Pilliwickle. I don’t own them and never will!

I owe a large debt to Hannah (coolh5000), Carole (EquinoxChick), and Natalie (hestiajones) for their constant encouragement and help at various stages of this story.

Fair Warning: Some of the reviews (naturally) contain spoilers, especially those towards the end. So if you want to be safe, don't read those before you read the story.

This story just WON a 2012 QSQ Award in the General category, as best chaptered story. THANK YOU!!!

Discovery by Gmariam

Rated: 1st-2nd Years •
Summary: A loose sonnet about two people coming together at Hogwarts one night.

Summary:

Michael Corner muses on his short-lived relationship with Daphne Greengrass.

*

Originally a drabble written for the amazing Jess/ToBeOrNotToBe…in the SBBC's Musical Drabble Exchange. It was based off the song "Ain't that a B*tch" by Aerosmith and the title is taken from the lyrics of that song.

A big thank you to Natalie, the impeccably wonderful beta for this in its drabble form.

Winner of the 2012 Quicksilver Quill Award - Best Non-Canon Romance.

Merry-Go-Round by LoonyLupin

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: When you love someone, they stay with you until your last day on earth. And nothing can kill you faster.

Some secrets are so full of confusion and agony that they leave your mind and heart spinning for days, even years. Deanne Jenkins knows this feeling all too well, thanks to one girl: Nymphadora Tonks.

New chapter is up! The italicized quote is from the last chapter.

Bliss by lucca4

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

Cho Chang is contently married to the Muggle man of her dreams (or so she tells herself). The Wizarding World and all the pain it brought is far behind her -- at least, that is what she believes until she bumps into an old classmate.

Pansy Parkinson weaves her way through bars and men (in that order) and tries to forget which side she was on. She needs help, but she isn’t sure how.

Perhaps, it takes recognising sorrow to move on to bliss.

This story is for the GH Cotillion Challenge. Thank you, Jess and Viv, for setting such an ingenious challenge!

Third Place winner, along with Paris by welshdevondragon.
.

Nominated for a 2012 Quicksilver Quill Award - Best Same Sex Pairing.

Where We Started From by Equinox Chick

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Dean Thomas slaves hard in the Department of Magical Sports and Games (or rather he doodles on his blotter and ignores his ever expanding in tray). But the work is deathly dull, until one day his boss hands him a pair of tickets for the Appleby Arrows V Holyhead Harpies game.

He's delighted to be going until he realises that Ginny Weasley will be flying.

For although she's now single, Dean isn't sure they can ever go back.

Disclaimer: I'm not JK Rowling. For one thing I've disregarded her epilogue - ooopsie
Thank you, thank you, to mah flist, especially Kara who has listened to me moan, Natalie who urged me to write Dean!Smut, Alex for commiserating with spiralling word counts, Emmah for 'langered' and Jess for cheerleading.
This is that annoying Equinox person writing her eighth story for the GH Cotillion thingie. *wibble*

To my utter delight and complete surprise, this story won Best Chaptered Story in the 2012 QSQ's ~ Non-Canon Romance.

Two Negatives by hestiajones

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:
Marcus Flint and Millicent Bulstrode.

Love sometimes thrives in the unlikeliest quarters, and between the unlikeliest souls.

This is hestiajones of Hufflepuff submitting her eighth entry for the GH Cotillion Challenge. Thank you, Lea, for reading the chapter and giving me confidence! I am not J.K.Rowling. And thank you, Kara, for your ninja betaing skills and all the giggles!

(I know this pairing sounds kind of dire, but please give them a chance. Lol. The story is not as dark as the warnings are making it sound like :D)
