Stories

Eastern Dawn Stars by Ginny Weasley Potter

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: “Hello,” I said, “what’s your name?”

Her mouth opened a tad and she looked at me, confused. Then she looked at the rubbish bag. “Sahib, kachra?”

Scorpius Malfoy travels to India for a Healing program and finds himself in the unlikeliest of situations when he starts to fall for a poor sweeper girl.

This is Ginny Weasley Potter of Hufflepuff house writing Scorpius Malfoy for the second part of the One-Shot Triathlon at the Character Clinic and I would like to dedicate this fic to my very first friend on MNFF: Pauie/ lucilla_pauie. You’re awesome, Pauie!

‘Kachra’ is a Hindi word which directly translates to ‘rubbish’.

Rating is due to the 'sexual situations' warning which is really just a kiss. But I'm not sure how many people will be comfortable with it so I've rated this high.

Harry Potter and the Untitled Book by InCompanyofFaeries

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: There have been a few alterations to the plot summary as I've been writing.
So, this is the basics of the new one:

Meredith Bradbury, a previously home-studied witch with a mysterious and tragic past, arrives at Hogwarts during theTrio's seventh and final year.

Things take turns for the worst, the best, the hopeless, and, of course, the unexpected.

Full of fluff, but a bit dark at times. --- Chapter 7 in process!!!!!!!!!!!! REVIEW and you will forever make me happy =)

Gaps Between by lucca4

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary:

Falling in love teaches Dennis Creevey that sometimes, needing someone isn't a bad thing, especially as it helps him forget all that he's lost.

It fails, however, to show him that forgetting can only go on for so long.

Thank you to Ari for her loveliness in betaing this story.

Polarity by Acacia Carter

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Draco ought to have expected he'd end up dying facedown in an alley, but nothing could have prepared him for the events or the friendships that would follow.

Draco/Neville, with references to previous Draco/Harry and Neville/Harry, as well as references (nothing explicit, merely allusions) to non-consensual memories.

Beta'd by the inestimable Soraya, to whom I owe at least three tonnes of baked goods by now.

I'm still not JKR.

Third in the Long Way Down continuity, this story takes place between the events of The Breaking Point and Tempus Vernum.

Teach My Feet to Fly by Equinox Chick

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Andromeda Black is not a girl who is reckless. Risks are for the foolhardy, and she is too clever for that. But she hasn't factored Ted Tonks' persistence into the equation of her life.

And Ted wants to teach her how to fly ...

This is Equinox Chick of Hufflepuff writing for Round 2 of the Character Clinic Triathlon - Minor Characters. I chose the Music prompt.

The song that Andromeda listens to in this story is River by Joni Mitchell. It is beautiful.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling. I am not Joni Mitchell. I am someone who admires both artists greatly.

Ta lotsly to the lovely Natalie (hestiajones) who beta'd this and is a truly fabulous friend.

I Will Lay Down My Heart by xxbabewithbrainsxx

Lost In the Stars by Maple_and_PheonixFeather

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: A month ago, if you had asked me if a boy and a girl could ever be best friends without it becoming complicated, I would have told you yes right away, no questions asked. I’m not sure if I believe that anymore.

This is the story of my greatest regret. The story of how I, Lily, lost my best friend.

Broken by iLuna17

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Pansy rolled over, and her eyes found a white wall staring back at her. Everything here was white: sanitized, blinding, annoyingly bright white. Even the loose cotton she had been forced to wear was white. But there was a reason Pansy was there. She was crazy. Pansy knew she was, but couldn’t bring herself to care.

Yes, life wasn't turning out the way Pansy planned, but it was manageable. Until he came along ...

This is iMusic17 from Slytherin writing for Round II of the CC Triathalon (2012).

Parallels by The owl

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: After the Battle of the Department of Mysteries, Nymphadora Tonks has a dream about her last days at Hogwarts. The memories it contains and their links to her present situation give her a lot to think about. The main subject of her curiosity: what is the connection between Charlie Weasley and Remus Lupin?

Huge thanks to Soraya/babewithbrains for beta’ing this so quickly and so well. It was in rather a mess until she gave me some very insightful suggestions. Soraya, I hope I have satiated your craving for Chonks slightly!

This is The owl of Hufflepuff writing for the Illustration for Inspiration Challenge in The Great Hall. I was inspired by Jess/ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor’s picture, “Up to No Good”.

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling. I’m pretty sure that you’ll figure that out for yourselves if you choose to read on.

If I Leave You Now by silverlining95

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary:

'Even in a castle this huge, with as many cousins as I have there’s always someone with a map to come and scoop me out of my tear-stained reverie in a dark corner.'

Molly Weasley Jr cannot leave Hogwarts, for she cannot leave her best friend behind.

This was originally written for the Illustration for Inspiration challenge over in the Great Hall, however it wasn't long enough and I didn't have time to rework it in order to post it in time to qualify.

The title is inspired by the Chicago song 'If You Leave Me Now'.

Nominated for a 2013 Quicksilver Quill in the Next Generation category.

Family Matters by LollyLovesick

Rated: 6th-7th Years • Past Featured Story
Summary:

Barty Crouch Jr. and Regulus Black; two boys with different expectations thrust upon them.

This is the story of how their paths cross, merge and then divide, leading towards two different endings; one tragic, one heroic.

"The Death Eaters, I want to join." I stared at him. His blue eyes were steady, his mouth set. He looked resolute. He had thought this over.

And then I got it. I finally got Sirius.

Second Childishness and Mere Oblivion by xxbabewithbrainsxx

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Lily has always had a picture in her head of her future -- a wistful, far-too-good-to-be-true image of happiness and sunshine and flowers, of her and James walking off into the sunset, unencumbered by the darkness within the most evil of people who walked this earth.

Of course, of course she should have known that things weren’t going to be that simple.

This is babewithbrains of Ravenclaw entering the first round of Madam Alex’s Character Clinic Triathlon: Major Characters.

ZOMG. This story has been nominated for a 2012 Quicksilver Quill Award: Best Canon Romance. Thank you!

Blackberries by Equinox Chick

Disclaimer: I am not JK Rowling; I just play in her world rather too much.

This is Equinox Chick of Hufflepuff and this is my entry for Round 1 of the Character Clinic Triathlon - Major Characters.
