This story is a prequel to my Next Gen fic High. It is not necessary to read that to understand this, but reading Lavender, blue - A Gryffindor True might help, although you should get the gist.

Happy Birthday. Ariana (lucca4) You are an incredible writer. (She also left me a shedload of reviews when I deleted the whole of High.)

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Lucius Malfoy was killed in the Final Battle, with his one wish firmly carried out. He made sure that his son Draco, would be loyal to and see the rise of the Dark Lord. The problem? Harry defeated Voldemort.

Having been locked inside his own head for a year, Draco Malfoy participated in a fictionalized battle. When he comes out of it, he's in St. Mungo's. He's learned about his condition...but it's a lot to wrap his head around.

Draco's told that he is part of a program titled Healer-To-Home. He will go live in a witch or wizard's household for as many months as the experiment will allow. He doesn't know with whom he's going to be matched with, and he's not sure he wants to...

Hermione Granger, from the good of her heart, agrees to participate in the cooperative experiment. Healer-To-Home will ensure that someone benefits from the program. Hermione knows that the patient's healing will happen better if they are surrounded in memories, but she doen't quite know how that should work. She also hasn't received the patient's name after months of learning the details of his specific 'injuries'.

We have come across Lily's journal; her take on why the whole affair ever started, her intriguing relationship with one ‘supreme git of the galaxy’, the extents to which she will go for revenge and where it will lead her...

"And if for some unknown reason you come across this, Potter, and the paragraph above does not manage to penetrate your unusually thick head and convince you of my stupendous dislike of you, I hope the following sentence helps: I HATE YOU!"

That Fateful Year by ginny6142

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: We always knew that James Potter and Lily Evans would end up together, otherwise the Boy-Who-Lived would never have been born, but no one else did until the day they got married. Many people still believed the marriage would end in failure, but the two were deeply in love from a connection they developed during their seventh year. This is a story of that connection.

The Eyes of the Confessor: Fragments (Alternate Book 7) by PensieveMaster

Rated: 6th-7th Years •
Summary: Update (8/5/11): For some reason, prior to the seventh book's release, I had this idea for how I would have conceived the Harry Potter to end. Without giving much away it would reveal that, despite Voldemort being at the forefront of the conflict within the wizarding world, there actually lie beneath the surface a much older, much more worrisome conflict. The story and its title are in part inspired by the Joe Walsh song "The Eyes of the Confessor," though the rest, of course, is all my own. Also, and this is a side-note, this story was a way for me to get the Harry/Hermione shipping that I believe existed throughout the whole series. While not a romance story, it is definitely a Harry/Hermione story.

Initially, I had written this story out on paper, and was typing it into a final draft on my computer (while concurrently posting it here). However, a hundred pages into the story, I lost my manuscript. At that point, my inspiration for writing somewhat faded, and I abandoned writing the story. However, with the Harry Potter high that I've been riding since the film premiere of the second installment of The Deathly Hallows, I've been remembering much of the story and would like to continue writing it. These are brilliant characters, and writing them can be just as fun as reading them, even when I'm diverting away from what occurred in the original saga.

Let me just say: this takes a very, very different route from The Deathly Hallows. I don't plan to match or rewrite the such scenes as Snape's memory and the defeat of Voldemort, mostly out of the knowledge that I could do no good job in attempting to do so but also because that was not this particular vision of the end of the series. So, it would be best not to think of Rowling's conclusion when (correction, if) you read mine. Hers was brilliant; mine is just a little germ of a story that infected my mind one evening. I hope you enjoy it, if you so take the time.
