For those of you who were not with us the past two years, the Quicksilver Quills is our way of honouring outstanding stories, authors, reviewers, betas, and artists.
There will be eighteen categories this year (we've added a new category for our bannermakers) in which you can win an award in. Rules and further information are posted here

Nominations have opened today and will remain open until September 3. Winners will be announced on October 31, 2008.

How exactly do we nominate? I looked at the thread on the beta boards, which had a lot of rules about who and cannot be nominated, but I didn't see anything about how you actually go about nominating someone. Do you just post a reply to the thread? And do you have to give reasons for your nomination, or can you just say "I nominate this story by this author in this category"? There's someone I'd really like to nominate, I just don't know how!

shewolf2000, You pretty much pick the appropriate thread and follow the form in your reply. If you want to soapbox for your preferred candidate so that others browsing the thread feel compelled to go read and then second your claim, that's fine, but mostly we need the name, the title, and the link.

It is nice of you guys to want to do awards, but I'd much rather see frequent updates to stories than award posts. I wonder how the slow validation will play into this. I know I've been waiting almost a month for my next chapter to get validated and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'm not sure how, and I hate to use this word because I don't believe in it, but fair is it to have nominations when authors can't keep their stories going consistently. I know you guys are working hard to keep the site going, but when there’s only one new story in some sections for weeks on end, that has to raise some questions, doesn’t it?
If we want to nominate do we send a message to the mod judging that category?
