Happy Thanksgiving!

by deanine @ 11/22/06 20:12
The Queue is closed until Monday guys. MNFF is taking a Thanksgiving break. Please use this extra time to perfect your stories, and we will see you back in the queue in a couple of days.

EDIT: The queue has reopened. If you are having trouble making the submission page work properly, please take a moment to delete your cookies, your internet files, and clear your history. This should be done while you are logged off the site. If anyone continues to have issues, please contact a moderator for assistance.

Edit Part 2: If you are still having issues, repeat the cookie deletions and file deletions. The error should be under control and the process should now work for you. Thanks for your patience guys!

It won't let me chose a catigory and I can't submit my story without it.

Hey guys i'm new here how long does it take for them to validate our stories?

Thanks! xoxo

hey, I have a quick question that's unrelated. Everytime I make a review it double posts and then won't let me delete the second one. Anything I can do to fix this?

werepupsitter written on 11/29/06 21:10

sweetface-

storie usually take about a week to update.

m00m_un1t_luna-

if you clcik on the number of review and scroll down to the bottom and click "add a review" (instead of using the review box at the bottom of the story) then it shouldn't double post. as for the deleting problem i can't help you there. i have never been able to delete my reviews, even when i click on the "delete" buttom.

hope this helped ya'll. (yes, i live in Texas) and i really like this 'ask questions get answers from other members or moderators' thing going on. i just wish i had a question.

m00n_un1t_luna written on 11/29/06 22:16

Oh cool, that sounds much better. I guess I never realized there was a different function to add reviews. You're so helpful!

Rarrsooors sexies.

Head on over to the forum then! Tons of helpful threads, mods answering all sorts of questions, classes to improve your writing, earning House points, finding betas, etc., etc., etc.

so... as for the locked categories... any news on that front? Because I've - like annie and I think someone else too - tried everything, from deleting cookies and history and temporary files while logged out and anything else that came to mind, yet the result was the same as always: I can't pick a category, and can't submit without it. Anyone figured how to work his way around that??

deanine written on 12/01/06 11:43

If you haven't tried deleting your cookies since I changed things last night, I need you to try again. Reboot your computer and check back. After the adjustments last night it worked for everyone I did a trial with.

And if you are still having trouble, contact me and I will personally try to help you with this issue.

annie written on 12/01/06 13:12

Ooh, it works now. Thank you! :)

Aargh! My stories get rejected, but the e-mail doesn't reach me. I know you sent an e-mail... but I don't seem to have gotten it. I'm not blaming any of you... but still. This sort of thing is annoying.

Luminata written on 12/03/06 17:22

Hold on. This site is American? No wonder some authers have such bad english slang...
(im English BTW)

Textualsphinx written on 12/04/06 6:34

Is there any way one can know where one is in the 'queue'? I've had 'Why Slytherins Are Sexier' up since before the Thanksgiving break. (By the way, what do Americans eat for Christmas if they have turkey for Thanksgiving? It must be a bit of a letdown to have the same kind of meal within a month.)

I've gone in and tinkered with it numerous times to ensure there are no serious errors, to add footnotes and, especially, to delete multiple line breaks. The latter, most infuriatingly, keep reappearing - so my story looks very 'spaced out'.

padfootnflawks written on 12/04/06 10:16

hum...I'm not getting the e-mails that alert you when you fav's have been updated...any one know how I can fix this? it is a really nice feature.

lol Textualsphinx no, usully we have ham or roast beef...yummy! :).
but we still eat the mashed potatos and stuff.

mooncalf written on 12/04/06 12:36

Hey Textualsphinx, as far as I know when you edit your chapter it goes back down to the bottom of the queue. Editing causes those spaces too. I find it easier to edit the document and then copy and paste.

Textualsphinx written on 12/05/06 6:22

Thanks mooncalf and padfootnflawks. Ah well, I deleted the breaks off-line and reloaded, so the story should appear in a week or so. Look out for it under 'humour'.

Textualsphinx written on 12/06/06 0:56

Blinks - the moderator's come up trumps; it's already validated!

Kabob written on 12/06/06 23:03

I know this question doesn't belong here... but how do I find out how many people have read my story? It seems like other authors somehow know, but I, on the other hand, am completely clueless.

Also, I was never notified by e-mail that my story was validated; what's up with that? Thanks in advance for answering my questions or redirecting me!
