Ginethixa, at the moment there are no plans to add a SS/LE category. If at some point in the future, enough stories, come in, it may be considered then. At the moment, those fictions should be submitted to the "Other Pairing" category.

Hello Mods - one question. If you are submitting a humour fic, do characterization rules really matter if you are changing character's personalities to make them do funny stuff? Or would your stories still get rejected if people were OOC? Anyone got any answers?

Madam Puddifoot I they didn't, but my humor fic was rejected because of that :/ I even had a warning saying it had extreme OOCness and the reply was "While this is a humor story, it if recommended that you try to stick to proper characterization of characters at all times. Please refer to both our help section and the HP Lexicon for further reference on the portrayal of your characters. The beta boards also have some interesting points on characterization. The fact that it says “WARNING: Characters are extremely OOC!” in the summary does not excuse it from following canon. It needs to be thoroughly justified.
After reading the story you submitted, I find that it’s not justified enough even if it has an Alternate Universe warning.

Some mods are more strict than others, but we all stick to a certain criteria, and fics whose characters are extremely OOC in humour will not be accepted. It's true that not all characters are funny, but that's the writer's job to create a believable and comical situation with that character. Extreme OOCness shouldn't be written off just because the story is humourous. Our goal is to validate stories whose scenerios and characterizations are plausible in the canon universe, whether they're humour, D/A, romance, etc.

I am glad that we can finally say what we want in our bios and everything else, but isn't it a bit soon? Obviously that's up to all the mods, but it hasn't even been a full month since the book was released. Anyway, glad MNFF is here, it's so much better than most other fanfiction sites. Go MNFF!!
