Yes, that means your story has been rejected. If you have followed all the submission rules as listed (not following them warrants a reject with no notice, including more than two chapters of different fics in the queue at a time), the first thing you should do is check your email's spam folder. If that isn't the case, then keep track of where your story was submitted to and if it disappears again, contact that category's mod directly.
Will/how will I be notified when/if my story makes the cut?
By e-mail... It can go to your e-mail's spam folder, but you'll be e-mailed... Unless the mod doesn't hit the yes letter, of course. But you can always go to 'Account Info' - 'Manage Stories'. You can see whether it's been validated or not there.
In addition to what babekitty said above, a sweeper mod mainly pays attention to the D/A, general, and humour cats.
Submission rules are great but if you have trouble selecting the subcategories (i.e. getting the buttons you have to use to function or knowing how to do so) it's a little hard to make sure your stuff isn't rejected for that reason or even recognizing the mistake. And that has nothing to do with anyone's ability to read anything. Yet mods post messages... and post messages

If what the fans want to see are validated stories, then these announcements are necessary. Mods can't give the fans validated chapters if they have to spend all their time rejecting and composing letters to fictions that blatantly don't follow the rules. These fictions slow down the queue time for everyone else who has submitted a story. Your concern is appreciated.

Can you submit two different fics to two separate SUB-categories in the romance section at the same time? Or does that violate the rules, as in submitting two fics under the same category?

katrin4p - Song fics are permitted as long as credit is given to the songwriter/singer AND the story is 800 words long without the lyrics.
tomfelton lover xo - You can write romance stories. You just can't submit them in the romance categories. Instead, submit in the romance sub-categories such as Harry/Ginny or Other Pairing etc.

How can I know if my fic was rejected? Because I'm waiting for my first chapter to be validated and it always says Validated-no. But I think that just means it's yet to be reviewed...do I get an e-mail or something? Thanks!!
Yes, you do. And when the fic is rejected, if you go to 'Account Info' - 'Manage Stories' you'll notice that your story is not there anymore. Meaning that it was rejected. If it was validated, it has Validated - yes. :D (And it's not a stupid question, really.)

My story has been with the mods since Sunday, when will I get an email saying if it's validated or not?
To harry_victoria: Well, there are a lot of submissions everyday and the mods are very busy (as they've said in a lot of comments and posts). It's only been 4 days. If after 10 days they still haven't rejected or validated your fic, you can click on 'Staff' and search for the Mod responsible for the category that you submitted your fic. Click on the name and you'll be able to contact him/her. I hope it helped :)
One question, all my stories I've submitted (prior to DH release) have been deleted and "no stories have been found". Does that mean they've been rejected or accidentally deleted because every story I've submitted within two weeks it's deleted.
