Last year's awards had been a success, and MuggleNet Fan Fiction moderators have decided to hold the Quicksilver Quills 2007, or QSQs 2007.
For those of you who were not with us last year, the Quicksilver Quills is our way of honouring outstanding stories, authors, reviewers, betas, and artists.
There will be seventeen categories this year in which you can win an award in. Rules and further information will be posted in our beta forums in about a week's time.
The categories are as follows:
Best General Story Best Dark/Angsty Story Best Humor Story Best Romance - Canon Story Best Romance - Non-canon Story Best Romance - Canon Character/Original Character Story Best Alternate Universe Story Best Poetry Best Marauders' Era Story Best Post-Hogwarts Story Best Same-Sex Pairing Story Best History/Mystery Story Best Beta Reader Best Artist Best Male Other Character Best Female Other Character Best Reviewer
Nominations will open on September 1, 2007 and close September 14, 2007. Winners will be announced on October 31, 2007.
Until then, start thinking about who and what should be nominated!

Yes, you do, fanofFred, and it is advisable to use the same penname as you have here, though some authors done; most do though. :) If you are looking to nominate, nominations close the 14th. :)
Question: how does an author know they've been nominated? Do they receive an email?
Prongs92: If you want to check if you are nominated, just head on over to the Fiction Junction. If the nomination threads are too long, there is a search button - just type in your penname there and any posts with your name come up. No, you do not receive an e-mail. That'd be alot of e-mail sending wouldn't it. ;)

the_hp_fan: I'm sorry to say but the nominations have closed. As said in the news post, they closed on the 14th and the winners will be anounced on the 31st of October. If I'm not mistaken, and correct me mods if I am wrong, this is annual and will probably happen again next year. Till then, you can check out the stories on the database and I promise you'll find some good stuff! :)

But can the winners last year win this year, too? It might have been stated somewhere.... maybe I just missed the announcement.
sandybeaple - Last year's winners cannot win again in the same category they had won in. For example, last year's Best Humor Story cannot win in Best Humor this year, but it can win in, say, Best Romance. The author of the Best Humor Story last year can win with another story in this year's Best Humor too.

When will the winners be posted, eh? I want to see if any of the people I nominated won! (I will be very surprised if "A Stolen Past" or it sequel, "A Past Reclaimed," doesn't win the Best Mystery Story award.)
