Last year's awards had been a success, and MuggleNet Fan Fiction moderators have decided to hold the Quicksilver Quills 2007, or QSQs 2007.
For those of you who were not with us last year, the Quicksilver Quills is our way of honouring outstanding stories, authors, reviewers, betas, and artists.
There will be seventeen categories this year in which you can win an award in. Rules and further information will be posted in our beta forums in about a week's time.
The categories are as follows:
Best General Story Best Dark/Angsty Story Best Humor Story Best Romance - Canon Story Best Romance - Non-canon Story Best Romance - Canon Character/Original Character Story Best Alternate Universe Story Best Poetry Best Marauders' Era Story Best Post-Hogwarts Story Best Same-Sex Pairing Story Best History/Mystery Story Best Beta Reader Best Artist Best Male Other Character Best Female Other Character Best Reviewer
Nominations will open on September 1, 2007 and close September 14, 2007. Winners will be announced on October 31, 2007.
Until then, start thinking about who and what should be nominated!

PLEASE HELP! If you have submitted a story and you are waiting for it to be validated, would editing the summary count as editing the story, so it would end up being re-submitted and the 10-day cycle would restart? Or can you edit the summary without anything happening? x Please help if you have any answers!

Not sure myself, but I'm anxiously awaiting an official answer. I edited once whilst in queue, and somehow the story dissappeared, but that happened so long ago I'm not sure if that was here or somewhere else.

I just started writing my first story and I published the first chapter. Can someone tell me how I will not if it is not accepted. right now i press manage stories and when it says validated, the thing says no. Does that mean they haven't looked at it yet, or it isn't approved?

Elderwand - You get a username on the beta forums, where there is a forum for the QSQs. You can't nominate a specific author, but you can nominate their story in the category that it belongs in. (Mods, sorry if I wasn't supposed to answer!)
Elderwand: head on over to the Beta Boards/Forums and go to the Fiction Junction. You will see where it says Quicksilver Quills. But be sure to read the rules first! :)
when i clicked on the link given by marauder by midnight, it says that dont have sufficient even though i was logged in and have been sorted and stuff. what do i do???
