Queue Wait Time

by songbook99 @ 05/22/08 13:11
This is to let you all know that the queue wait time is now back to normal. Therefore, everything should be looked at by a moderator within 7 to 10 days of reaching our queue.

Happy Submitting! :)

Wow, you guys are fast. It only took two days for my rejection letter to come back. At least I don't have to pay, right? :)

messrs_inc written on 06/04/08 4:18

My story has been in the queue for more than 10 days. What should I do?

songbook99 written on 06/05/08 2:37

If your chapter has been in the queue longer than ten days, you can contact the moderator in charge of the category to which you submitted your chapter.

My next chapter got rejected because my mod said my summary was too long. I've never had that problem before. I actually recently made my summary shorter. Is there a new rule about summary lengths I didn't hear about? Because it's weird this is just coming up now. And I know it was the summary that got my chapter rejected because the only other thing my rejection letter said was that I should try not to use more than one exclamation point, which I didn't do often and doesn't seem like a rejection worthy offense. So do I really have to cut down my summary to get my chapter accepted? Because I'll do it if I have to, I just think it's weird that my other four chapters got accepted when my summary was even longer.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

I have a question that needs to be answered urgently. I submitted a story alittle less than a week ago, but I haven't gotten an email rejecting it or accepting it. I wouldn't freak out so much, except that it's not mentioned at all in my account. Is it supposed to be? Help!

SIngingBrdwy written on 06/16/08 7:52

How long does it usually take to get yay'd or nay'd by the mods? I just submitted my first J/L fanfic!

songbook99 written on 06/19/08 13:15

shewolf2000, Summaries should not be more than 300 hundred words. Also, multiple puncutation marks, aside from ellipses (...), are considered incorrect grammar and are rejection worthy.

Lily_Luna_Potter, if the chapter is not even listed on your account when you go to the Manage Stories area, it is likely that it was rejected. There are two possible reasons that you did not receive a rejection letter. One is that it simply did not make it into your email account, which has happened to others before and is the reason for the "I didn't get a Rejection Letter" thread in the Questions forum of the Beta forums. The other is that you submitted it to more than one category and it was removed from the queue without a letter, which does happen. If you only submitted it to one category, it is likely that the rejection letter just never made it and you should make a post in the thread I mentioned above.

SIngingBrdwy, your question is answered in the second sentence of this new posting.

Yay! That's good news! Thanks Moddies! I just have a question that I'm asking for my buddies... both of them submitted their work on here (one of them before me), and the one that submitted before me didn't get any email at all, and it was still in her "manage stories" according to her. But two days after she submitted her story, I submitted mine, and got a rejection (it was accepted later), but she still got no news. Right now both of those friends are at stay-away camps, and unable to check so I've checked for them. Still no acceptions from what I see...

Should they...er...resubmit when they get back?
:] thanks againnn

Renny

songbook99 written on 07/15/08 22:12

Ren Shire, if the submissions are still in the Manage Stories section of your friends' account, then it means their stories in one of the high traffic categories and it is still awaiting moderation. If the submission is not in the Manage Stories section, then your friends need to make a post in the "I didn't get a Rejection Letter..." thread in the Questions forum of the Beta Boards.

Help! My fan fic has been in the queue for 13 days. I have emailed a couple of people, but no one is responding. What should I do?

Thanks,
Malfoy_Star92

songbook99 written on 07/18/08 1:19

Malfoy_Star92, if you sent your email more than three days ago and have not received a response, please contact an administrator.

Malfoy_Star92 written on 07/18/08 9:37

Thanks, I'll try that.

Malfoy_Star92 written on 07/18/08 21:51

No one is contacting me. Is there anyone in particular that I should ask?

HPFangirl71 written on 07/20/08 14:27

This isnt concerning the queque time or anything but how do i get the site to allow me to add to my favourites cause so far i havent been able to and i have a couple stories i would like to add so i can get updates easier...... if anyone can help me out then thanks!!

Malfoy_Star92 written on 07/20/08 21:04

I'm not on staff, but I do know how to add favorites. There are options at the bottom of each fan fic, and you just chose to either favorite the fan fic or the writer. After you select it will take you to a place that you have to write a little something about the fan fic. You must do this or it won't add it to your favorites. I made that mistake when I first joined. Hope this is helpful.

songbook99 written on 07/21/08 23:45

Malfoy_Star92, please allow at least a full day for people to access their email and respond to your message. The moderators all have other responsibilities that may prevent them from checking their emails every day. Also, please allow only the moderators to answer questions to prevent any confusion.

HPFangirl71, to add a story to your favorites, you will need to click on 'Add to Favorites' link and then clicking on the 'Submit' button on the bottom of the page the link takes you to. Unlike what Malfoy_Star92 wrote, you do not actually have to write anything in the text box. You only need to click on the 'Submit' button.

Malfoy_Star92 written on 07/22/08 16:34

Wow, I learned something new. :)

HPFangirl71 written on 07/23/08 19:33

Thanks for the help, I finally got it to work, maybe they should let newcomers know how to add to those categories when they join, would save on alot of frustration!! Anyways thank you to both the moderater and the kind person who tried to help me also.......
