I simply must say that I love the character of Elly, her whole personality and the lines she came out with just kept me giggling. I just wanted to point out that -- Something, he supposed, was rather akin to the one he himself had had the day he had first set foot in Diagon Alley after a childhood spent exclusively in the Muggle world This sentence was worded a bit awkwardly and I had to read it over once before I got it. If you inserted the word 'that' before the 'was', it would sound better, but that's just my opinion lol.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! Yes, Elly is near and dear to my heart...she's quite the spunky little elf. *snicker* If you care to see a rendering of her you can click here: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/29985485/ Again, thank you so much! We're so glad you are enjoying our little story. A new chapter should be up around Monday or Tuesday. ~Aeryn

Great job so far! I like Paidea a lot. You've shown some development already, which is hard to do quickly, but I like that she's grown out of the mold that her parents created for her. That's always tough to do. I can't wait to see where else you'll take her. Like your other chapters, the interaction between Snape's family is good. I can still sympathize with Eileen and try to understand why she loves and stays with her husband despite him being so awful. I'm usually tough to convince on that count. Oh, and Steve is a nice character. It seems like he has a lot of influence over Severus, so I'm looking forward to seeing where that will go! Good installment, and I'll keep reading soon!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the lovely review! We are so glad you are enjoying the story. :D Paidea is a very interesting woman -- a bit on the speechy side but fun. She's definately a person who devotes herself entirely to causes and her beliefs and that was very important for us to show. If she doesn't believe in it...she doesn't support it, but once she does she supports it whole hog. As for her relationship with Snape...well, we shall see (I'm just about to send the next chapter to our betas). Steven is a riot to write. *pets Steven* So, it's a huge thrill to me that people like him. Eileen and Tobias are a complicated couple. Using what little we know from the canon, it's hard to know an accurate family portrait. I don't think it's that Tobias is awful...he just has a great deal of faults but also frustrated desires and just self-medicates with booze to make himself feel better...but in the end he's only doing harm to himself and those around him. Eileen...well she's trying to hold her family together but only seems to be enabling. It's a sad but true cycle that occurs in families with an alcoholic member. Anyhoo, I'll stop rambling! Thank you again, and we hope to have a new chapter up in a week! ~Aeryn

I really, really liked it. It made me feel so sympathetic to the young Snape, and I couldn't help comparing him to what I knew he would become - and his liking for sweeping robes especially. Beautifully well written, I really appreciate that when it's done properly. Straight off to my favourites list! And in case you haven't guessed yet, 10/10 for you!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! That is so kind of you to say! We're working on the next chapter now...and hope to have it up in a couple weeks. We're thrilled you are enjoying the story and thank you again for the review. ~Aeryn (of aerynfire)

Yes Paidea its about time you saw it! Haha! I really adored the way Sev had no problem telling her what he thought of her clothing choices, and the way his uncle noticed their tension. You did an amazing, incredibly vivid description of the entire building and especially her apartment. I really liked the way Paidea didn't understand muggle clothing and was so classy, but it didn't make her come across as snobbish. I can't wait to see some scenes in that lovely garden you described! The next chapter will surely be loads of fun as they settle in. Well done as always and pretty please update soon!

Author's Response: Heh!! Thank you Kerian, glad you enjoyed it. Yes it is about time Paidea noticed he's not a kid anymore, and those looks! But she's a classy gal definitely more out of touch than remotely snobby, she's going to find that old Muggle cottage quite novel we think! And if you want to get an advance of sorts on that garden, you should check out Aeryn's fab pic featuring Snape and Paidea. :) It's up at her aerynstales deviantart account. Glad you enjoy the descriptions, it's hard work but it lends depth and makes it worth it when you get great comments like yours!

Sorry it took me so long to review! I loved the update, and Paidea really started to flesh out as a character with flows. Severus was as amusing as ever. I always feel bad for him when he gets treated like a child! This new mission idea is veryyy exciting! Really is the chance of a lifetime for Sev. Its going to be hysterical to see Paidea's reaction though! Update again soon!

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Kerian! We do have the next chapter with our betas currently, so all should be ready to post when the admin come back after their Holiday break. :D *breathes sigh of relief on Paidea's flaws showing up* She's a tricky character to write....and we know we're touting a fine line with her. As for Paidea's reaction...heheh...next chapter should answer you on that one. Thank you so much again! ~Aeryn

Aww poor Sev being treated like a child. I really liked the way you told us what she has been doing for her young life, and I also love the exchanges between Steven and Severus. They are very funny, and I like that they both easily stand up to eachother. I hope Paidea changes her mind about Severus, which reminds me that I love the way her male assistant and Sev clashed immediatley. Im just slightly worried that she is turning into a bit of a Mary Sue, hopefully that will change when she develops more. Well done and great update!

Author's Response: Hey, Kerian! Thank you so much for a such a wonderful review. We are both glad that continuing to enjoy the story. :D Steven is a great character to play with...he's the favourite uncle who earned the respect Snape gives him but is also quirky and random as well. Would you believe I modled him a bit after Tom Baker?! Heh. Paidea is a tricky character. I personally don't think she's a MS...but it's hard to show development so quickly. She's an amazing diplomat that's fought for every inch of her credibility, but she's also sacrificed a lot to get there. Most notibly a sense of her life as her own...her wishes and private life often get shafted for her public one and her duty. I think this will show up more fully in later chapters for certain, but you have definately voiced something that I will keep in mind and pay close attention to. Thank you! ~Aeryn

10 million/10, definitely. I really liked it because for some reason, it was very different then all the other Snape fics I have read. You definitely are probably the best author, skill wise, that I have read and your prodigous skill shone through to your story. Although I am personally getting very tired of young-Snape fics, your story made me like them again. You definitely should have more reviews- comment, people, comment. I can't speak for anyone else but I think you did an absolute marvelous job on this fic. As for the Star Wars thing, I can't say it wasn't like it because I have never seen Star Wars, but keep on doing what you are doing with the plot. It is amazing. Keep up the great work!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! That is so kind of you to say and wow, a rec too! :D We really are having loads of fun writing this story, and have submitted another chapter into the queue. We usually write older Snape fics, but wanted to give this a try. Glad you are enjoying so much and hope you continue to do so. ~Aeryn (of aerynfire)

Haha I just realized that the reference was, well, as in the artist type of potters. I saw where Eileen worked and thought that it involved the Potter family. Lol yes Im blonde! But I really love the story and hope you update soon!

Author's Response: Ooooh! Yes, she's an artist...a potter but of clay, not family. :D We're both so glad you love the story, and feel free to check out our one-shots. They are related to this story, but set after it's all over. Heh. Update should be this weekend, beta and validation willing. ~Aeryn

Wooo! A very strong start! I just knew that it would be the girl from the first chapter! I like the way you dropped hints about a speaker and the hearings all through this chapter, and then jumped right into the action! I really like the way you tried to explain Eileen's opinion about their home situation. I hope we get to see Severus run into Black and Potter at some point- and did I catch a Potter reference with some store in the first chapter? Great start!

Author's Response: Thank you! We're glad you are enjoying it. And there certainly be more action to come...though alas, no Potter or Black in this story. They're off doing their own thing this summer holiday. Though I'm confused by the Potter reference you speak of. Thank you again for the review, we hope to have chapter two up over the weekend. ~Aeryn (of aerynfire)
