This is extremely well written. I'm always disappointed with fanfiction because of the bad quality of writing or the poor formation of a plot. But this was beautiful. I'm really glad I found it :)

Author's Response: Aw, thanks. That is a really cool thing to hear. I'm glad you enjoyed the story here... this is one of my favorites of what I've written. Thanks again. ~Lori

This was so wonderful to read. I find it very hard to write Hermione, but you have captured her character so well and given voice to her fears and insecurites post-Malfoy Manor.

I really liked seeing her thoughts and her side of things where DH was concerned. Although, what Hermione doesn't realize is that Ginny experienced horrors of her own being at Hogwarts w/The Carrows.

I love the ending of this - how you compare Tonks and Fleur in regards to scars on their loved ones with Ron and his reaction to Hermione's scars - so touching.
Great job!

Author's Response: Hmm... I didn't mean to convey that Hermione thinks Ginny doesn't understand suffering, but that Ginny doesn't understand Hermione. In canon, Ginny can be rather hard on Hermione, and though I like her character very much (in the books), I think sometimes she is not very empathetic. Anyway, in this moment, I can see Ginny not clue-ing in to what her friend is going through and Hermione reacting this way. But you're right. Hermione would certainly know and appreciate what Ginny had been through as well. I'm so glad you liked the story, especially the end. Thanks for taking the time to review. :)

Perfect, really perfect. I love the way the characters were portrayed, not at all out of character but with a very slight kind of twist. Marvelous,

Author's Response: Thanks so much. I'm glad you enjoyed reading this. :)

This is absolutely marvelous. What a fantastic story! I can very well see why it won. :)

The characterisation is spot-on; I was truly pleasantly surprised to see Ron and Hermione so well written. The pain of Hermione's memories is stunning and truly makes this fic. I love the fact that she can't see the scars, much as she hates them. It makes her all the more vulnerable and Ron all the more wonderful for showing her how much he loves her, scars and all.

I expected Ron to make a slight gasp or a comment about how much it must have hurt to be that bad, but that just shows me how wrong I was to expect that! Because how he did react was infinitely better; I love the emotion his reaction evokes between them. I especially love Hermione's acceptance of his love, and I smiled when Tonks and Fleur were mentioned for their acceptance of their husbands - that was my favorite part. :)

Amazing, stunning job! Truly wonderful - and I don't normally read R/Hr! You may have turned me to the category! This is going to my favorites. :)

Author's Response: Going into someone's favorites is, well... my favorite. :) Thanks so much for the lovely review. I see what you mean about Ron's reaction. I have always imagined that he would have as many nightmares of that memory as she would, as it was so traumatic for him as well. For that reason, I don't think he would be surprised to see that it was that bad, as he would have imagined it to be that bad in the first place. (Sorry, that was a crazy sentence.) I'm glad you liked the way I went about it with Ron and that you enjoyed the story so much. Do read some more R/Hr... you can find several on my author page. /shameless plug

Thanks again, and take care. :) ~ Lori

That was amazing. I loved it. I thought it really put it into perspective and showed what Hermione thought about that particular part. The Ron/Hermione relationship is my favorite one in the books and it's great how you enhanced it in your story!

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm so glad you liked it. This actually started as a drabble, but I couldn't seem to let it go at only 500 words. Ron/Hermione is my favorite pairing in the books, as well, which becomes immediately evident to anyone who reads much from me. Hehe. Thanks again for reading and taking the time to review!

OK ... this is my third attempt at submitting this review. I continue to have technical glitches every time I write it, and I have to rewrite every time!

Here we go: this has got to be my favorite fanfic. After reading hundreds of stories, I find that the most enjoyable ones for me are the ones in which the characters are written as true to the books as possible. Sometimes I wonder if Ms. Rowling ever hops on to Mugglenet and reads fanfics just to see what avid fans are doing with her characters. I imagine her laughing at some and reading others aghast. I truly believe, however, that she would fall in love with this story. Every line seems to capture the Hermione and Ron we grew to love in the 4000 page gift we were given in HP. The story line is like no other fanfic I've read. Not only did you capture the beautiful qualities of these characters, but you gave readers yet another cherished glimpse into their souls.

I've submitted a fanfic about Draco, where I've attempted to do the same. It's doubtful I can accomplish what you have, but hopefully it will get posted soon, and you can let me know.

By the way, it's refreshing to see other Moms out there as HP-crazed as I am. At least I'm not alone!

Author's Response: I hardly know how to respond to this except to say that you really made my day, possibly my week, with this review. I'm so glad you enjoyed the story so much and that the characters rand true to you. This may seem silly to say on a HP fan site (because we are all fans here), but the way you talk about the books really connects with me... that's how I feel, too. I love writing Ron and Hermione, both together and separately (but neither of them with anyone else--haha), and I'm glad you find them recognizable.

If you poke around a bit, you'll find there are several moms around here, reading and writing while their children nap. Hehe. I will watch for your Draco story, though you should know he is not my favorite. :) Thanks again so much for taking the time to share your thoughts, especially since it took three times to make it happen. I appreciate the encouragement so much. Take care. ~Lori~

This is really, really, truly lovely. It's very realistic and accurate, I think, and the "mourning" process for Hermione is appropriate. You did a wonderful job with this; thank you. Keep writing and believing!

Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked this story. Thanks so letting me know--I really appreciate it!
