Another great friendship fic!

My favourite line was Harry's soft, "Hermione, she made yours first." So deceptively simple.

Great interweaving of the past and "present".

cj

Author's Response: Thanks for the review! I guess that's Harry in a way. Not a bloke of many words but he gets it right when he does speak. Haha, I see what you did there. Christmas puns ftw!

Wow. A few simple words make me wanna kiss someone, anybody really.

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing! Haha, well, I hope you didn't read this in public on your own. That could end weirdly. Glad you liked it :)

This is so lovely. Hermione's nervousness is bang on, Harry is great. And that "she makes more of an effort"- that was a nice touch. I loved the way Harry tried to umm, stand up for the injured cushion and agreed to the logicalness of Hermione's illogical ramblings.
Btw, JKR fangirling over Drarry fanart??? You realize you could be charged with my murder?

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing :) Harry is advocate of fairness to all things both living and cushion and nobody rambles like Hermione. Haha, I'm saying it's a possibility. Maybe she just appreciates the cross-hatching?

Oh this made me all fuzzy :) Since SSS is the first fic of yours that I've read, I haven't seen much of your Harry yet. Now that we've been properly acquainted, let me say that he's as well-written as the other two. Thanks for writing something that warms my heart this foggy November evening! - Natalie

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing :) Yeah, Harry makes the odd cameo there but that's it really. Thank you! Of the three, Harry is the one I struggle with the most so it's nice that you think I've done all right there! When better for a Christmas fic than... er... November?

This is quite lovely; your references to the previous Christmas during the Horcrux quest contrasts nicely with Harry and Hermione's conversation in front of the Weasley fireplace. I hope you have other before-and-now stories waiting to be written. Nice job!

Author's Response: Thanks for reading and reviewing :) I'm glad you liked this! I may have something that is a bit like a before-and-now but not really somewhere actually... Anyway, thank you!

I feel like everything has already been said by reviewers and authors much more helpful or prominent than I, but just... wow. I adore this piece for so many reasons, and I will be all too willing to blabber about them.

This friendship is very difficult to write, if only because of the abundance of canon evidence towards it and, yet, you have shown something wonderful here. I laughed at the banter, as usual for just about everything you write, but it was also incredibly heartwarming because of the timeline of the fic and we can see a nice little 'they're moving on' here. There's a strong undercurrent of the year before, but they're becoming people again (as has been noted by just about everyone with the wonderful 'became Hermione again' line) and I just... oh, how I love it.

I want more. Nay, I demand more! Seriously though, stay sorted in school (my first semester has been interesting to say the least) and hopefully you'll come back to us in one piece!

Now I've gone and spoiled myself on all of your stories at ffnet. Sometimes my voracious hunger for fics gets the better of me, I swear...

Author's Response: Thank you for reading and reviewing :) Dude, your opinion is as good as everyone else's so yeah, go nuts. I love writing canon!H/Hr. They are just such great friends/almost-siblings. Although I'm crediting any heartwarming bits to the fact that this happens at Christmas and Christmas makes everything fuzzy and warm. Good luck with your studies! If by 'interesting' you mean making you question the point of everything and cry inside then we're on the same page! I'm still writing (in an attempt to keep myself in one piece) just not nearly as much. Haha, have you no patience? Well I apologise for all the minor errors you saw - I tend to fix them up before putting them up here. Anyway... thank you so much again for reviewing and I know I'm behind on the Hawthorn Root but I will catch up :)

Gahhhh! This piece is just LOVE. It's perfect. The characterization is just right, even of Ron, who is only discussed rather than seen.

Harry and Hermione have such a lovely relationship in canon, and it's so refreshing to see it explored here without it going where Rowling never intended.

Favorite parts: "Last Christmas, she had been almost catatonic at times, never truly smiling and barely unrecognisable under the cloud the horcrux placed them both under. Even after the locket had been destroyed, there was always something that wasn't there anymore, an empty space that had once been filled."

and... "Hermione laughed softly and the two of them fell into a comfortable silence while their eyes traced the flames flickering in front of them, both remembering last year, when protecting them from the cold was all a jumper could do."

Brilliant.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! Yeah, I love their friendship so much in the books so it's always fun to write, even if I really struggle with Harry. Anyway, thank you again for reviewing :)

This is one of the best Harry/Hermione friendship fics I've ever read. Well done.

Author's Response: Oh wow - thank you! And thank you for reading this and then reviewing! I think this response is just a mess of gratitude - hopefully it makes sense :)

OH! I love this! What a heartwarming story, and totally believable.

Sorry this is not an incredibly good review (infact it's v v poor) but I really did like the story and thought your characterisation of Harry and Hermione was very strong. I was grinning away, almost all the way through, but then the odd lines floored me ...

It hadn't been until after the war, after the funerals and her parents to return that Hermione had truly became Hermione again. So sad. So true.

Great story. ~Carole~

Author's Response: Thank you so much for reading and reviewing :) Haha, any review that says nice or helpful things is a good review! I always struggle with Harry so I'm glad you think I pulled it off. Yeah, for Hermione I don't think the war really ended until she knew her parents were okay. Anyway, thanks again for reading :D
