If they had only known then what they know now--known to be suspicious of Tom. And we sit here pointing out that wasn't it obvious that Tom and his little pack of friends knew something.

Author's Response: I suspect Dumbledore noticed Tom's suspicious absence in this chapter.

This is certainly a very unique plot. I am not sure where it is going.
