Still great very exciting. You can take your time with the next chapter. I'm moving and won't have internet for a while.

Author's Response: Thank you! Are you moving far? I have relatives coming to visit and it's really hard to write and do the family togetherness thing, so it'll be a few more days before the next chapter is finished. Hopefully by the end of next there will be an update. :)

This chapter may have been late but it was worth it. What made you think of Downward Gryffindor? I get a big kick out of your Ron. I think of a frat boy. Kind of reminds me of a Newfy dog I had. He acted like a big frat boy, always bouncing around and smiling, knocking people down and licking them. That was a dog! Then my son and his rugby pals. They jumped around and knocked people down too. Hermione is always so sensible and understanding. Rose's dresses sounded lovely. Ginny's and Harry's reactions to Rose's dress were funny, with Ginny saying tht Lily probably picked it out. I loved this chapter.

Author's Response: If Ron is like a Newfy, he was growling instead of bouncing around smiling, heh, but he had reason. It can't be easy, changing from being the guy his little Rosie showed her pretty dresses to when she was little to the guy waiting in the corridor while Rose asks Scorpius Malfoy to come into the room to see her sexy dress. :D Thanks for loving the chapter. I think Downward Gryffindor came from thinking about Hermione doing yoga and teaching Rose her Zen Occlumency.

What a nice family moment for the Malfoy men. Lucius knows exactly what he wants. Scorpius seems to know how to pick his battles. I'm surprised Lucius didn't hand over a Gilt-edged list of How a Malfoy Behaves. Scorpius probably wouldn't pay attention to it anyway although he does walk on the edge. I like how you write all of the Malfoy men.

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you like the way I write them. Scorpius could probably write a list of all the ways Lucius has said a Malfoy should behave . . . but he won't, because he would rather deal with his grandfather's expectations one at a time. :D

I am glad to see this updated. I've missed it. Though I know you've had a lot going on right now.

Still, this was superb as always.

Author's Response: Thank you for missing it! While I was away from MNFF and struggling to write original fiction and fight writer's block I'd write the occasional fanfic chapter, so that's why I could update so quickly before. Now I'm back to juggling figuring out what I want to write for my next attempt at an original novel and updating this story. I'll probably only update once a week, but I'll keep updating regularly until it's finished. :)

Have I mentioned how happy I am that your stories are now exceeding 20 chapters.

Author's Response: Thank you! That's what happens when you know the major plot points of a story but discovery write to take you from one to the other--sometimes you uncover more than you thought there would be. :D

I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin. I hope everyone is doing ok despite the circumstances. I really enjoy reading your stories and enjoy the updates.

Author's Response: It's weird how you can see a body in a casket, listen to people speak, even watch a video of moments of their life and still not really believe it. Thanks for the kind words and condolences. :)

I wonder if Scorpius feels a little bit humbled after the Jack Frost incident, all in front of the Potter/Weasleys. I absolutely love it when Kreacher and Scorpius get together. Kreacher and his knowledgeable comments about true Blacks totally crack me up. Then, there's the matter of Scorpius showing bare legs. I'm more worried about Lucius' reaction to his grandson's bare legs. And then, what Jack Frost's alter ego looked like. Where do you get all of these brilliant ideas?

Author's Response: Scorpius is starting to appreciate the Potters' ability to take things in stride that would have sent Malfoys into drama overdrive. Kreacher definitely lives in the "glorious" past when it comes to Blacks. Lucius will never know about the shorts. Imagination is a wonderful thing. :D

There are a couple of parts in this chapter that I really liked. I liked the thought of Scorpius hiding his box under a pile of snow and Rose conjuring a light breeze to playfully blow away a corner of the snow. I absolutely loved the entire Potter family trooping into thr room where Scorpius was resting and casually sitting on the bed. If that doesn't make Scorpius a part of the family I don't know what does.

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked those parts! If Albus hadn't been a threatening gust of wind, I bet the Rose's playful breeze would've been hard to resist. :)

My very favorite part was when Kreacher came out to meet Scorpius and was shedding tears of joy because he was seeing the return of a true Black to the old manor and if only Mistress was alive to see this happen. I've grown to like Kreacher after all this time.

Author's Response: Me too! I remember when I wrote Tonks how no matter how angry she was with him over Sirius she couldn't keep from feeling sorry for him. Regulus and Harry were the only ones who treated him kindly.

Keep it coming.

Author's Response: I will, I promise. I just don't have any more already written chapters. I have to do it old school, write then submit. :D Should be another chapter up by the end of next week.

That was a memorable last chapter in OLS. Sometimes I feel a bit sad for Draco. I could see him feeling beaten down but still trying to help with the party. It's like he's emotionally bankrupt. And, he can't even do legitimacy right as shown by giving Scorpius a headache"

Author's Response: Thank you! No one should drive "while impaired" or use Legilimency either. Draco got some reassurance out of it, but for Scorpius it was one big headache. I did get the impression that Draco was mainly taught Occlumency so he could hide what he was doing from Snape in HBP. He probably didn't have very good Legilimency skills.

I loved Chariots of Fire. Did John Williams write the music for that movie? I remember going to the Boston Pops after that movie came out. John Williams was the conducter. At one point the Pops played a prominent song from the movie and midway through the song, Williams' wife came running in through the large doors leading into the concert hall followed by a sizeable group of runners all dressed in white, recreating a scene from the movie. It was really cool and totally unexpected. Thank you for bringing that lovely memory to the forefront. The party also reminds me of parties we used to hold in our small apartment while in graduate school. But back to this chapter. I can't believe that Teddy actually was digging through their wardrobe. I don't even dig through my own wardrobe:P this chapter had just the right atmosphere to bring out pleasant thoughts. I feel nice and relaxed now, like I'd been to the party myself.

Author's Response: Vangelis wrote the theme for Chariots of Fire. That would have been unexpected and awesome, seeing the runners come in. Thanks for sharing that, and I'm glad you feel like you've been to the party, which is now in full swing, heh.

I can see Sendak and Scorpius sitting silently at the table. Good thing Sendak had an icebreaker ready so they had something to talk about. Of all things, the Cannons:D I am falling in love with Barrabetta. She sounds like quite the young lady. How sweet--Astoria has a grand owl. My mother enjoys showing off her grand puppies. She has so many of them. That was so mean of Lily. I can see sending a Howler but itching powder? Bad Lily! You are such a skillful author that you made me feel stressed out just reading Scorpius' busy day. Rose was busy too but it seemed like everything going on was Scorpius' responsibility.

Author's Response: That's the reason why Rose asked if he wanted to trade jobs for the day. She was stuck in sensitivity training and he got to do the fun stuff. Growing up with WWW in the family itching powder wasn't the worst Lily could have sent.

I absolutely loved that Scorpius was able to start Personal Assistant day at Malfoy Enterprises. Even Lucius took his assistant out for lunch. I think Scorpius has his grandfather wrapped around his little finger. Lucius has certainly turned from being a mean Death Eater to a doting grandpa. That's adorable! I remember Sendak fondly from your Tonks and Remus series. How nice of him to name his daughter in honor of Tonks. The housing situation you described reminds me of married student housing when I was in grad school. When it was cold outside you'd see kids playing in the hallways, under steps, in storage rooms. Our building was 21 stories high so they had a lot of room to play. The housing complex was designed by a famous architect but it had a gray, industrial look to it.

Author's Response: Lucius took his assistant to lunch so he could add spin PA day as his idea. He reminds me of crime lords who give their grandkids leeway their kids never got, but they demand respect and they have plans. Gray industrial works, as long as that isn't a euphemism for Communist concrete block. :D

Scorpius is so wonderful. Draco and Astoria must be very proud of their son. I could go for an herbal bubble but I'll have to settle for an herbal shower in the morning provided I don't oversleep and run out of time. I love to see Draco's interaction with his son. But, oh no, Nathaniel saw the dreaded dimple. Good way to cut a conversation short.

Author's Response: It doesn't matter how he's characterised, snarky and sexy ( waaayyy back in the days before he cried to Myrtle) or an over-protective dad, Draco will always be one of my favorite characters. :) Thanks for telling me the things you liked. :)

Eww--Polyjuice Potion must smell as bad as it tastes. I'd like to see Zod and his hag wife again but I suppose Polyjuice is Polyjuice and it doesn't matter where it comes from. If anyone thinks they are going to pull the wool over Harry's eyes they are sadly mistaken. He doesn't miss a trick.

Author's Response: I think polyjuice taste varies depending on the person you're trying to become. Nice person, nice flavor. Maybe Nathaniel's potion will be minty. :D

This story should get some sort of award for the way the characters behave. Plus a gold one for Felix. Great reading.

Author's Response: Aw, thank you so much for saying that! I think it took several tries for Scorpius to get Felix to jump up on the lounger instead of being "good" by jumping into the planter box. And then he had to get Felix to jump on the lounger next to him instead of on his lap. :D

i love that Zod's wife is a hag among hags. you should always be the best you can be no mater what you are. Is Teddy paranoid possibly wearing Shield-Charm pyjamas? i'm sure they were shocked when Harry Potter opened the door. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Author's Response: I'd be surprised if Teddy even owned Shield Charm pyjamas. Rose and Scorpius were thinking worst case scenarios, and maybe Scorpius kinda hoped she'd have to punch Teddy, heh.

Gosh, I don't know if it's better to use an heirloom, such as Snape's, or to put it under glass preserved like a treasure. I'm back to thinking Felix is adorable. He behaves much better than my dogs do. I'm really starting to think Teddy is annoying.

Author's Response: Severus had so many robes I'm sure a set was preserved in a museum. Teddy just needs an attitude adjustment. ;)

I read this yesterday, I think but I don't see a review. So if you read this review somewhere else I put it in a weird place. I liked the castle. I thought it said a lot when the help had to assist Scorpius build a fort. It reinforced the view we have of Scorpius growing up with not many friends around. I did love the castle though. I would've killed for something like that when I was little. Felix sounds cute but I'm not sure I'd like his rat tail.

Author's Response: No reviews in weird place, not that I wouldn't be happy to see a review anytime, anywhere. :D I could see Lucius finding out about the sheet tent and saying, "That's not good enough for my grandson!" Felix's rat tail would grow on you.
