Summary: This poem illustrates exactly how Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks felt about each other before they got together at the end of HBP. Minor spoilers. Author's Note: This was written at, like, midnight one night this summer when it was too hot in my room to go to sleep (stupid AC was broken for a month), but that is when I do my best writing. Try it. May not be as good as my other ones, but as far as my poetry goes, it's pretty good.

REMUS
He’s a kind but tormented soul,
Always worried about something or another;
Named for a young hero who,
Was killed by his own twin brother.
Every month he drinks the draught,
To help him; to keep him sane;
But he was once a terrible sight,
Before the invention of Wolfsbane.
He stays away; he keeps his distance,
From the ones who dare to come;
And try to get close to him with love,
Wanting to give him some.
NYMPHADORA
She’s a fun and curious soul,
With a heart as loving as she;
Though her lack of grace always leaves her,
With bruises and skinned knees.
She has watched him drink the draught,
To help him; to keep him sane;
But still he knows not how it hurts her,
To see her dear Remus in pain.
Nearer and nearer she gets to him,
Never letting him slip away;
She loves him so, but how can she tell him,
That no matter what, she’ll stay?
REMUS
Secretly, he carries a flame,
The flame burns only for her;
But how can he have her; how can he love her,
If every month, he’s covered with fur?
What if, one night, something went wrong?
What if he hurt her somehow?
He couldn’t go on; he wouldn’t forgive;
To a higher power’s wrath he would bow.
But all the time she’s getting;
Harder and harder to resist;
Oh, how he wishes he could give in,
And steal just one little kiss.
NYMPHADORA
Secretly, she knows of his love,
And the flame that burns just for her;
So she presses on; she won’t give up,
Until he belongs to her.
She knows well of his fear for her life,
Of his effort to somehow convince her;
Loving him is too perilous,
So she gets angry and calls him “sir”.
She’s told him over and over again,
That she would love him anyway;
That she would continue to pursue,
No matter what he may say.
BOTH
She grabs him by the front of his robes,
Screams, “I’ve told you a million times!”
He says, “You deserve someone young and whole.”
But he’s thinking behind the times.
After a while, he knows he’s lost,
He can no longer fight her off;
He lets her in; she kisses him,
Her lips are warm and soft.
Soon her hair is back to pink,
Bright and vivid as ever;
Sometimes, he asks, “Will you ever leave me?”
And she just answers, “Never.”
