Any day now the sun will rise
Chasing darkness through the skies
Burning the clouds into dust
Counting the stars as they vanish.

Any day now the moon will set
Bidding goodbye to the starry net
That was the world to which it belonged
Where the song of night lives on.

Any day now I will find
Courage written in these lines
Yet as I analyze these words
I discover the cowardice I have.

Any day now my tears will go
Down the stream of long ago
Fighting to push away memories
Of faded chances that I possessed.

Any day now I will say
The words I learned yesterday
Three words, eight letters in all
“I love you” seems so simple.

Any day now….
