1. Burning Thoughts by Periwinkle

Burning Thoughts by Periwinkle
She's only a maiden,
Wearing a tattered, white gown,
Her raven - black deathly locks,
Falling from her head down,

Her grimy hands clutching hopelessly,
At the cruel bars of prison,
Her heart beating fearfully,
Trying to find reason,

For that youthful prisoner,
Has a deceiving appearance,
Her innocent demeanor,
Puts many in a trance.

She's shaking her mesmerizing head,
Unable to believe her destination,
Unable to use alluring skills,
To break from her situation.

No one will listen to her,
No one will look at her,
No one will pity her,
No one will love her.

Her life was as fruitless,
As slippery golden pearls,
Like her never-ending
Seductive black curls.

Tears won't do anything,
Glistening on her cheekbones,
Cries won't do anything;
No one will hear her moans.

So she cries silently at night,
Grieves during day,
Sits quietly awaiting her fate,
Such a cruel one, they say!

They come,
Taking their time carefully,
Silent shadows,
Staring spitefully,

And she finally realizes,
The wrong she's done,
Follows the hooded cloaks,
And she is gone.
