One shot by Avenger_of_Dumbldore
I leaned against the wall,
standing still as a stone.
Just silently waiting
for the scary unknown.

Dumbledore’s eyes,
hide not the hint of fear
I tried so hard to move,
but in return, I got a leer.

It was all for the best.
I could tell from his face...
My heart began to beat,
a quick rhythmic pace.

But Malfoy seemed
to have a change of heart.
Maybe in this war,
he wouldn’t play a part.

But then the hatch flew open,
all hope began to fade.
Death Eaters came out
straight to Draco’s aid.

Once again,
there was no hope.
If Dumbledore died,
how would I cope?

Seconds turned to minutes,
still he was alive.
If things should continued the way they were...
was there a chance that he’d survive?

All hope faded,
for the hatch opened wide.
And there was Snape.
I almost cried!

There seemed to be nothing
that I could do.
Snape was evil…
who the heck knew?

He raised his wand,
ignoring Dumbledore’s pleas.
That was when
time seemed to freeze.

The jet of green light
hit Dumbledore’s chest.
It was all my fault.
I know it, don’t protest!

Then Snape gave a laugh,
ran down the stairs.
Please, someone please come.
Answer my prayers!

Nobody came,
and the spell gave way.
So I went and chased Snape,
joining in the fray.
