Author's Notes:
This poem was originally written for a Poetry Challenge in Hufflepuff House. Enjoy.

Blushing cheeks and glistening eyes.
A perfect lip curved in a smile.
Wistful looks across the room.
A precious rose in early bloom.

Let sleeping thoughts lie.
They will torment your soul.

Taunting words and mischievous grins.
A word of friends always wins.
Subtle hints of jealousy.
Friends are as friends will be.

Let sleeping dogs lie.
They will hold you back.

A whisper of careful and delicate touch.
Reticent togetherness is never enough.
Blissful kisses in dark corners.
Tears of joy which secret love honours.

Let sleeping feelings lie.
They will do you no good.

Cries of sorrow and bared teeth.
Only few know what lies beneath.
A full moon reveals the monster within.
Forever alone and living on a whim.

Let sleeping wolves lie.
They will tear you apart.
