Why my years of insane flirting,
Never broke,
The icy barrier standing tall,
Between you and me.

Beyond my arrogance,
Into my compassionate soul?

I think to myself,
I’ll change!

I love you so.

Your long flaming hair.
Matches my passion,
Burning inside my heart.
Your emerald eyes.
I could stare forever.

A terrifying thought arises.
With each breath of your name,
That escapes my lips.
My heart races,
My flaming head swims.
You’re so arrogant,
So full of yourself.
Yet your hazel eyes intrigue me.
As I lay here tonight,
I now realize,
I’m terrified of you.
Terrified of loving you,
As I think on it.
Because I would fit,
So warmly in your arms,
