Summary: This is a poem I wrote expressing the feelings of a woman about her lover going off to fight in the war against Voldemort. Its bitter-sweet, and its my first poem to be submitted, so please read and reveiw!!

Let only a teardrop fall. by sweeterthanhunny
Author's Notes:
This can be used as someone sending her sweetheart off into a Muggle war, but I did write it about the war against Voldemort. It could be any character, or just some random person, you decide ;)
I love him.
He knows
And yet he is still
Going to fight
Still going
When we both know
He shall
Not return.

Oh, it is all in the
Name of good,
And it is very noble
Of him
But I really do wish
To be selfish
To keep him here
And forbid
Him to go.

But if he stays
He will berate himself
Claiming he has brought
Shame
And dishonour
Upon his name
His family
Me.

So he goes
For I could not
Bear to see him
Blame himself
For all the others
Who have died in
Vain.

I hate this war.
It ruins lives
Killing
And then those
Who survive
Live in misery
A life fraught with
Grief.

He will fight, he says
He will kill and be killed
He will help
Us;
As a family
But how help
Can he be
When he is
Dead?

And through it all
I promised him
However hard it may be
I will ever
Let only a teardrop fall.
