The Chessboard by Princess_Nagini
Summary: A poem about Harry Potter and the (ungrateful) Dark Lord.
The war is done, but who has really won?

(The Character Death is just a precaution - it isn't that important)

Author's Notes:
Hope you enjoy!

And thanks JusticeForMedea for pointing out my mistake - it flows much better now!
Each has power,
Both so strong,

Always determined to carry on,
Each is so similar - yet so unique,
A path to freedom is what they seek.

The Dark Lord is black,
His heart his grey,
He lives only to cause misery through this game he plays.

The Boy Who Lived is white,
Forced to grow up because the spite,
Of the Dark Lord won’t let him live young,
He cannot rest ‘til this war is done.

Opposite sides of a chess board,
Each with a different game to play,
The white side vows to end this war someday,
The black side has no heart, feels no pain,
If he wins the world will never be the same.

The chessboard hosts a difficult game,
Filled with lies and betrayals until that fame,
Kills one or the other.

Both have no family,
One has friends,
They will stay beside him until the war ends.

Both have the same destiny,
But the final decision will influence everything…

One piece moves.

Checkmate.

The war is done,
But who has really won?

The light who cannot hold the guilt,
Or,
The dark who has always left its mark.

Checkmate.

This war is done.
