I used to look at the moon with awe,
Now I curse it with my paw,
I used to think it was like a pearl in the sky,
Now when I see it I ask why, please why?

In the day and most nights,
Nobody would say I could make a fright,
But when the sun comes down,
And the full moon shines around,
I change into a monster.

Claws sharp as knives,
Golden, inhuman eyes,
Fur thick and grey,
I never look like this in the day.

As the moon fills,
I howl and cry,
Asking the world why,
Should I have to live this way?
Can’t I be normal night and day?

But people can see past the wolf,
They can see me inside,
They can see the secret I try to hide,
They see past the monster,
Make friends,
Sometimes love,
But it all depends,
If they see past the wolf,
See past the moon,
