I left a part of me behind that day,
When I went from here to there.
I left a part of me behind that day,
But I’m not any worse for the wear.
Because when I left a part of me behind that day,
They fixed me up with an easy charm.
I left a part of me behind that day,
But I’m the same, there’s no need for alarm.

I left a part of me behind that day,
When I left him for someone better.
I left a part of me behind that day,
And it stayed there, a dead letter.
Because when I left a part of me behind that day,
I left behind support and love.
I left a part of me behind that day,
And now I feel like an empty glove.
