He did not know why he must be so shy.
He wished this girl would join him to the dance,
Though lest he ask her soon he’d miss his chance.
If she would go with someone else – he’d cry.
He watched her closely as she passed him by,
And was surprised to see her toward him glance.
It was his time; so nearly in a trance,
He called her name, determined now to try.

He still could not believe that she’d said ‘yes’,
He’d thought this girl he’d to some other lose;
But she had chosen only him of all.
She looked just gorgeous to him in her dress,
He’d learnt to dance and even bought new shoes;
Together they were cutest at the Ball.
