I sit here in the dark, knowing I will always be alone.
Tears stream down my face as I think of the pain.
Every member of my family is buried beneath stone.
Crying out, it hurts I fear I will go insane.

Memories of laughter and life dance through my mind.
There were so very few days of happiness and light.
I never dreamed that the world could be so unkind.
I never dreamed they would become victims of the fight.

Flashes of my elder sister appear in front of my eyes.
Her beauty, her grace, and her strength shine through.
But her mind and soul were taken over by lies.
A life of evil and cruelty she chose to pursue.

In my mind, my younger sister appears to me.
Her sweet smile and soft voice melt my heart.
She married a man who was unable to see.
Her unhappy marriage caused her to fall apart.

My charming cousin, Sirius came into my head.
His bright smile and mischievous eyes stood out.
His life and his choices filled our family with dread.
And yet, he was the one who lived without doubt.

I think of Sirius’ sweet, baby brother.
The quiet child with dreams to reach the sky.
He became another Death Eater like every other.
But in the end, his conscience caused him to die.

I remember my young, blonde nephew.
His charismatic ways made him a popular lad.
He was my family that I never knew.
A child who had no choice but to turn bad.

Tears filled my eyes as another face appeared.
The one whose death would haunt me forever.
My daughter’s death was something I feared.
It was a life I would not forget—not ever.

I had begged my family not to fight.
The price for glory was far too high.
They did not listen and ran from the light.
And I had to watch each of them die.

And now I am left alone.
The family line will die with me.
The last of the Black blood and bone.
This will be the end of the family tree.
