A man so full of mystery,
So full of life,
So free of fear.
He watched us grow
With careful eyes,
Keeping us
Out of harm’s reach.
His love, compassion,
Filling a room.
His laughter, smiles,
Brightening the night.
Eyes twinkling like the stars,
Everything always seemed
So fine, so right.
So very content,
So at peace,
A flat champion,
Shining bright.
We’d follow him
To our own end,
And though we’d fall
And he would fail,
It seemed he always knew,
Always knew what to do.
His eyes twinkling like the stars,
Forever in our memories,
So full of life,
So free of fear,
But past the depths
Of faultless blue,
His lies revealed,
His nightmares alive,
There was the man
I never really knew.
