Author's Notes:

This is a tanka poem, which follows the syllables 5-7-5-7-7. It tells about what the prisoners of Azkaban go through each and every day. I tried to capture their feelings of hopelessness in this poem.

The biting wind howls,
Echoing the forgotten.
Eyes are extinguished,
Rapt in nothing but sorrow--
Souls are lost in Azkaban.
