Mum by Soccer_rocks_likeHP
Summary: The love between Mum and child is strong, especially between the two in this poem. Their mum dies and they talk about the pain that has come from it. The characters are not specific, but I've always pictured it as Hermione talking about her mum.

You’re my mum,
You were there from the start,
You always loved me,
From the bottom of your heart.

I looked to you for support,
I went to you when I was down.
You did everything right,
To get rid of my frown.

My love for you
Is just as strong.
I’m your light in the dark,
By your side, I belong.

Until that unfaithful day,
I thought you’d always be there.
But life is unpredictable,
The pain is too much to bear.

I feel empty and alone,
Dad is crying.
I try to be strong,
But I’m not skilled in lying.

I don’t know how to handle this.
Tears flow against my will,
Anger is common,
Hiding this is becoming a challenging drill.

I’m trying to get my life back together,
Just like you would want.
It’s becoming easier to believe,
But to find misery I don’t have to hunt.

It’ll get better over the years,
I’ll get on with my life.
You will never be forgotten,
It will no longer sever me like a knife.

Goodbye for now,
My kids will know of all you could do.
Thank you for everything.
I love you.
