Hearing the news
takes away my vision,
My sight.

It takes away my sister:
Her image that lurked in the dark corner of my mind,
gone.

Not true.
Please, say it’s not true

But all along,
I know it is true.

My sister-
Dead.

Her child,

Alive-
On my doorstep.

His eyes,
Bright crystal Green.
They pierce your soul and make you remember.

Remember.
As kids,
She would always find me,
Hug me,
Swing with me in the park.

Call me Tuney.

Remember.
She was different,
And I ridiculed her.

Remember.
She thought I hated her,
thought I took her to be a Freak.

When all along,
I was jealous.
Jealous –
But not anymore.

She died,
Died with the neon green light.

Her son lives,
Lives with the crystal green light.
