An Ode To Severus Snape

Let us come together
To recognize a man
Who followed to the end
A carefully laid plan.

He had us all deceived,
Most all of us but few
For his malicious deeds
Proved his intentions were hardly true.

He showed us astonishing courage
That few people ever exhibit
Though often on his face
Was a mask used to inhibit.

His true feelings were hidden
By his cold obsidian eyes
While deep inside his heart,
A small, young child cries.

His demeanor was imposing
His face sneered at us all.
So no one came to aid him
When a snake brought about his fall.

And though he seemed quite evil
To the people not seeing his ruse,
He helped save us from Voldemort
And the knowledge of having to lose.
