Why?
Why is death
so common?
Like a flower
in a meadow...
There are so many...
so many bodies floating, drifting, sinking...
My heart is empty,
like their eyes.
Why?
Why must I cause
a murder?
Even of one so evil...
who has the power to give and take life?
I don't,
and I surely don't want to be powerful enough.
I need strength,
I need hope.
Why?
Everyone seems so far away...
there are borders you cannot pass.
Death is border,
death is one of these.
And so many are gone...
Why?
Why must I join the soulless ranks?
Why must I be taken,
why must I be offered,
like a sacrifice, poured out
as a libation?
What have I done to deserve this?
Why?
