There is supposed to be a rare
lunar eclipse tonight.

The moon
Is supposed to turn
Blood red.

While we stand on the earth,
And watch with admiring and scared eyes.

Wondering, really,
What is going on?

As we stand there,
I assure you,
one of us will back up
and run away.

Because the moon isn’t what we all love.

Some of us fear it.
Some of us fear the red colour.

It’s not normal.
It’s not human.

Red is not supposed to be on pure white snow,
Outlining an innocent figure,
Mistakenly in the way of the moon
and me.

The red, tainting the snow,
And the puffy white flakes-
Falling down.
As if everything is alright.

I will never do that to someone again.

Never.

So some of us fear the moon,
for other’s lives.

I don’t want it to be over for me,
or over for you.

That’s why I run.
