I watch the fields go whizzing past
As I sit comfortably in my seat.
The lady comes past with a trolley
Full of mouth-wateringly delicious sweets.
I casually unwrap a Chocolate Frog,
My friends all chatting happily,
My eyes are stuck on the beautiful scenery,
Speeding past rapidly.
It’s like a potion for forgetting my troubles,
The pain I felt won’t stay for long,
This train is like a ticket to joy,
Taking me to where I belong.
I stare at the gorgeous meadows and fields,
Racing past the window,
I watch them the same way every year,
It’s like all of my secrets they know.
The sun then fades and the rain starts to fall,
And I get a different sensation,
Replacing the tranquil thoughts in my mind
Is quiet deliberation.
I wonder what will happen when
I’m done taking this train to my home,
Will I be left with the pain of before?
Will I be left all alone?
Hogwarts was like a relief for me,
Where I met new family and friends,
It’ll only last seven short years,
I often worry about the end.
But for now I will content myself
With the thoughts these fields employ,
And I’ll just be at peace with the wonderful moments
Spent on this ticket to joy.
