For you, my love, I face Death now,

Don’t cry, my love, when I am gone,
For I am midnight, but you are the dawn.
As my mother’s was for mine, sweet love,
My life laid down for yours,
Know that through the dark of night
This love forever endures.
For you and all who dare to love,
For you and all who cared,
For you and all, I give my life
So yours and theirs may be spared.
My heart beats ever so wildly now,
As my encounter with Death draws near,
For although many boast of my bravery,
Underneath it is naught but fear.
When bright green flashes before my eyes,
And my soul departs for above,
I will not have died as The Boy Who Lived,
But as a man in love.
