No one is home.

You wish they were there,
But they arenâ€™t.
And the house is destroyed forever.
Even if it is still standing,
It is no longer home to you.

You need a home:
Someone to care for,
Someone to love,
Someone to care for you.

But no one is home.

Youâ€™ve searched,
Poking through dusty corners
And peering into the darkness,
But there is no one.

Your heart lives in limbo,
Not at home â€“
Not the way it should be.

You stare at the house where she died
(It isnâ€™t home anymore).
It reminds you of him.

He is gone, too.
Your heart called him home,
but he slammed the door
And locked it tight against you.

No one is home to welcome your heart.
