Myrtle's Song by Phoenix13, grindylowinatutu
Summary: Poor Myrtle laments about death so often that her plight has been made poetry. This is a rather silly poem that we devised while at camp. Enjoy!

Story Notes:
We wrote this to the tune of "The Misty Song" whilst at girls' camp. It's not a song most people have heard before, as I found out when I did a Google search. It's better if you sing it to the actual tune, but it makes a pretty spiffy poem anyway.

MOANING MYRTLE'S SONG
Dedicated to Olive Hornby.

Tell me the reason I was born to moan.
Tell me the reason I am all alone.
Tell me the reason no-one else will die.
Tell me the reason I was born just to cry.

When I first saw those two bright yellow eyes,
I had no inkling I was going to die
But very soon, it became apparent
That I was feeling quite transparent.

How many toilets will I have to swim?
How many children will I watch fall in?
How many tauntings have made me so blue?
How many decades will I spend haunting you?

There is a valley in the U-bend.
It's where I play with my imaginary friends.
There I can feel loved and living
Why must I be the one to feel Death's Cruel Sting?

I get so dizzy when they pull the chain,
But it's quite lovely floating down the drain.
As I slide down with all the smelly goo,
I'm glad there's eternity to spend in the loo!
