Author's Notes:
This is a poem I have written for the October Triathlon over in Poetry Anyone on the beta boards.

*
In my tethered heart I cannot fail to see
Spectral horrors that eternally plague him
Yet an ignorant wife I claim to be
So I pay no heed as the tempest claims him.
With trembling fingers, he strokes my Titian locks
And calls my name from tormented dreams each night
And my heart it beats, unceasingly knocks
Waiting for dawn's fair rays, waiting for light.
My strength it wanes like the inconstant moon
But I shall not see him succumb to false ghosts
We won, we’re victorious, free from doom
Yet he refuses to see and spurns my hope.
I am here, I tell him, Ginny, your wife
Do not dwell on death, accept our new life!
