The Depression took hold

The anguish wouldn’t let go of its grip

My heart seemed to ache

And the world seemed to spin

As all I could do was cry

and scream out his name to the wind

Where it would die on my lips


The name too painful to utter

The death too painful to handle

The depression took hold


My eyes started to bleed

Just as my heart had been doing all along

I’d never see him again

He’d never be there to be a friend

No one to hold

No one to help me get through this

Now all I would be was alone
