Carved, cloaked, cranial figures,
Embedded in my mind’s eye.
Immortal arts to haunt.
Do you remember what we did?

Tear down the barriers.
Make them crumble.

Words wrap around my body in a twisted, grotesque internal lullaby,
The fluent tongue jarring around each note.
Angels have their wings broken, turn to dust.
As do mine.

When will you break me once and for all?

Falling stars.
Falling hearts.
Falling lives.
