Mourning/Morning

The night weeps showers of sorrow
As death fills the air with sharp pain.
Heroes are lost and have fallen:
Loved ones not held e'er again.

He mourns, heart breaking, tears falling;
A part of him drowned in the rain.
Despair - a wound never-ending:
For a brother not seen e'er again.

The morning brings bright tears of joy
For victory, at last, now attained.
Heroes have fought and succeeded:
Loved ones are free once again.

He smiles, applauding the conquest;
No more will darkness now reign.
Triumph - both bitter and sweet:
For a brother returns once again.
