Hogwarts Hymn by Virgil
Summary: Written for the Copycat Challenge of Poetry Anyone? - this poem's style and meter is directly copied from William Blake's masterpiece, And Did Those Feet in Ancient Time, which is far better known in the version put to music, an Anglican hymn called "Jerusalem."

This poem describes the joy that I feel when reading the Harry Potter books.

Story Notes:
J.K. Rowling owns everything in the lyrics. If you're singing it along with the "Jerusalem" tune, that was written by Sir Hubert Parry, not me.

1. And Did Those Brooms in Winter Time by Virgil

And Did Those Brooms in Winter Time by Virgil
And did those brooms in winter time
Fly above Hogwarts’ grounds so green?
And was the Chosen One of love
On Hogwarts’ moving stairwells seen?

And did that glove crimson and gold
Hence catch the golden yellow Snitch?
And was the Tournament ended here
In hedges on the Quidditch pitch?

Accio key to Hogwarts’ doors!
Accio wand that burns so bright!
Accio books! O paper joy!
Accio friends with weary smiles!

We shall not cease our righteous war,
Nor be consumed by the Dark Arts;
The strong light of this Lumos charm,
It dwells in ev’ry student's heart.
