Chapter 1 by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor

The time has come to take up arms and stand
As soldiers strong and to protect our school.
His forces cut a swath across the land,
Determined to subject all to his rule.

But stone and flesh and spell shall hold the line
Against invading masses drawing nigh.
This eve will be the time for some to shine;
For others, it will be their night to die.

Though fear may nestle in our chests, we rise
As tall as towers for the looming fight.
And soon our foe of black and silver guise
Will know we won’t fall silent in the night.

So do your worst, for we won’t break or bend;
We stay, we fight, until the very end.

End Notes:
I seem to write a lot of battle poetry, but there is something just so gripping and epic about capturing certain motifs to represent something so complex and riveting.
