Summary: Albus Severus Potter is not like his father. He can't defeat unimaginable evils. No matter how hard he struggled, he couldn't overcome the evil surrounding him.

This is a poem, written about my favorite character in all of Potterverse, Albus Severus Potter. I want to thank the amazing Jess, ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor, for her help with sorting this out. (I had no idea what it was until I had finished it)

Also, I don't own anything you recognize. J.K. Rowling probably does, though.

Drowning



It's surrounding me;
Suffocating,
Strangling,
Taking away my very breath.


Mr. Potter, your son was possessed


Agonizing;
I know no future,
No past --
just Pain.


It drove him insane;


Worse than any curse,
Burning hotter than a thousand fires;
The pain has overtaken me,
It's swallowed me whole.


Eventually, he drowned in it.


I drown in the pain.
It's holding me under,
I can't breathe.
I fight and struggle,
but there is nothing to fight for.


He drowned in his own insanity.
I can tell you this, though:


No one's left;
It's just me.
But still I fight
In anger and fear.


He fought it
With every fiber of his being


Everything is blurring,
I'm losing.
I struggle harder,
feeling the weight pushing me farther.
The end is near,
but still I fight.


It was too strong,
Even for someone like you,
I suspect



You haven't died in vain.


You should be proud, Mr. Potter.

In case it was unclear, this is about Albus Severus. He is definitely my favorite character EVER, (though James Sirius is up there) and I hope you liked it. :)
