the tired woman by Padfoot11333
Petunia Dursley is a tired woman.
She's reaching for her son,
she's waiting for her nephew.

Petunia Dursley has no voice,
(at least, she thinks!
pulled by her husband’s call.)

Petunia Dursley is a uniform home.
The fourth home on Privet Drive.
Not noticed, just seen.

When Petunia Dursley looks in the mirror,
An unfamiliar woman looks back.
She’s scared.
She doesn’t know what she’s become.

Petunia Dursley follows who she must be,
Rather than who she wants to be.
She listens to others, rather than herself.

Petunia Dursley is still a girl,
Wrenched out and placed in a woman’s body.

Petunia Dursley floats from place to place,
Pulled by another’s string,
But. Just once.
She wishes to be that naïve, runaway kite.

End Notes:
Reviews are always welcome.
