Survivor's Hymn by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor
Summary: After the last spell flashes and the day is won, hope can be found in the subtlest ticking of the clock, the softest note, the tiniest slant of light.

Thus ended the Battle of Hogwarts and began for those left to carry on.

This poem has been nominated for a 2012 Quicksilver Quill Award: Best Poetry.

Where the light may shine again by ToBeOrNotToBeAGryffindor
While I normally allow my poems to be interpreted as the reader wishes, I just wanted to note that the intended focus of this was to show finding light in the darkness - most notably after the Battle. Its theme, though, is fairly universal for humanity in general, and that is hope.

Still your tears, o Children;
Hours mark the fleeting beat,
The subtle course,
The tempest heat,
And dwell where the warmth shall carry on.

Hear the song, o Children;
The notes impart a mournful tune,
For all that’s lost,
For all that’s gained,
And cajole the morning’s strains into the sky.

Take my hand, o Children;
Come away from the dark,
From the quiet,
From the cold,
And walk where the light may shine again.
